| Granted that it's true that GTA3 launched on a system with a 4 million userbase and did well for itself, but the situations are far from parallel; the PS2 didn't have two contemporary competitors who were stomping the living dog Hell out of it.
Granted RE4 sold 400k more on the PS2, I guess I have to take that back to some degree.
Still, if they want the most sales they will go for a simultaneous release, because more sales means more people who will inevitably buy the sequel. Sony would have to drop a lot of money to make a timed exclusive worth it, and they can't really do too much of that now considering how much cash they're hemorrhaging. |
