| Wilbon's comment isn't meant to say he deserved it. It's meant to say that a lot of people do the same thing he did, which is continue to run in the streets even though they know they're beyond that. When you're passed having to live with your parents, the projects, and hanging out with the wrong crowd, etc. should no longer be a part of your life. I think the quote was meant to say to the people still out there that this life isn't the way to go, and you can't just divorce yourself from it the minute something good happens in your life.
