Some additional points: Metroids don't turn people into zombies, they kill them, theres a diffrence.

In addition, Valve made Counterstrike, which is probably the most successful
online multiplayer (PC?) shooter ever (altough i would never touch it ever), and the all but the original Team Fortress games which have alot of popularity even if there not that known to console fps players.
Also Flood's history boils down to: "aniceint evil race of crabs that almost destroyed life in the galaxy (possibly made by a more anicenit race, i forget)

Breif Xen(includes headcrabs) history: Aliens from another dimension fighting a losing war with the combine (different aliens from a different dimension), that have been finally beaten back to their home dimension when Gordon accidently blasts open an interdimsional portal and kills the Xen Queen Fetus thing, then the Xen races begin to thrive on earth like animals and often destroy entire towns (
ravenholm **** yeah), in addition to being used as weapons by the combine.
quite a bit more with just a brief sypnosis, not to mention i could write a paper on the other alien "race" the combine compares to the Coveant (Religoius aliens worship older aliens, want to conquer people)
