I've been to Lynchburg and visited the Jack Daniels Distillery which by the way is located in a dry county of Tennessee, and the difference between straight bourbon and a sour mash whiskey is like night and day. For many whiskey drinkers who enjoy a strong charcoal taste and a smooth finish with oak flavors, Jack Daniels and Jim Bean are the best bet. For a smoother finish and less burn on your throat then Makers Mark or Crown Royal are usually easier to swallow. I’ve also had what native South Carolinians call “White Lightning” also known to many as Moon Shine or White Whiskey. Hands down that was the strongest most impossible drink I have ever tried to consume. It burned so much that when I sneezed I could feel the whiskey tearing up the inside of my nostrils.
But anyway, I have been a Jack Daniels man since I was 18, it was the only liquor that I could gauge how intoxicated I got. Single barrel or green label Jack are some of MY favorites. But on a day to day basis I prefer the regular black label Jack Daniels as I do drink a glass a day like most people drink wine.
Damn I’m thirsty now…..
