| Freelancers behave according to their volition. Once you hire them, you lose control over their activities, save that you're allowed to fire them at any point. They, in turn, are free to act as they see fit--however, as non-regular troops, they receive no racial or attribute bonuses and cannot act in your name (say, by claiming territory for your nation).
