Math is one of the classical "arts." There used to only be BAs in it; according to my advisor, the BS degree for math didn't even exist until a couple decades ago.

Considering the differentiation between the two (at Truman, at least) has nothing to do with the actual math courses, I would assume that they're regarded equally. I just wanted some official recognition that I finished 3 programs in 4 years.
