I recently took the time to watch it again, and...just wow. Somehow it takes a premise that would seem really stupid (the events take place inside an MMORPG) and makes it into a very deep and emotional story. It's very slow-building and "chatty," but all of the characters are developed well and it's a very satisfying watch. Highly recommended for the patient. edit: it also has some of the best dub VAs I've ever heard; only the Ocean Group dub of Dragon Ball Z has come close to it. .hack//Roots - The anime portion of the sequel to the .hack franchise. I've only seen a few episodes, so I can't really express a clear opinion on it. What I'm worried about is that so far it doesn't have any kind of important real world correlation; as if the story only concerns the game itself. Hopefully something interesting will come up. |

And I have no doubt in my mind this the greatest anime ever made. The deaths (Especially a certian female nin's.) are tragic and grusome, and the heartbreaking love story will have you searching for a tissue. The breathtaking music, amazing battles, deep, historicly accurate story, and dark, dreary apmosphire makes the anime my personal fav. 12/10 Samurai Pizza Cats (Jap Ver.) It owns. 8.5/10 |

| Gunjinkeeper | A full review of Samurai Seven: Samurai Seven has stood the test of time, and the test of "Do I really want to pay 20 dollars a pop on these DVDs?" Well, they were worth it. The tale of Seven Samurai on an attempt to save a village called Kanna is based upon an old movie title Shiichinan no Samurai, or Seven Samurai. It was a classic Japanese movie critically loved and nostalgically revisisted on Many ocasions. The Anime, however, is a bit different. It is futuristic, it has differently designed Samurai, and it is, of course, Awesome. (So is the movie, though, so I don't know why I said it was different in that aspect...) I have again and again thought of which of the Seven was the best, and just when you pick one, he gets killed. Quite a few of the main cast, in fact, are defeated and put to rest. Though I won't spoil who and how, the first few deaths really caught me off guard and made me shed the rare tear. The thouroughly enjoyable series is short, sweet, and to the point, as assumable, and definately warrants the love of its Viewers. SS is always the one to make you revel in its coolness; watching Kanbei and the group mercilessly take down hundreds of bandits in "The Storm" is breathtaking, and of course, awesome enough to make us Samurai Lunatics drool. The VA is incredible, as is the Animation quality. The Voices for Kanbei, Kyuzo, and Kikuchiyo are outstanding, in the utmost degree. Its Important, however, to look at the Animation. This type of Animation is a personal favorite of mine, looking more realistic than most Anime. If all anime looked, sounded, and acted like this one... Well, there'd be little Variety, but hey, it'd all at least be a cool type of TV to watch until you got sick of it. There are a few downfalls: One, its too short, Two, why does it have to be so damn slow, and three, the filler episodes could have been a bit better. My rating: 9.3/10 |

I really like the animation and the way it looks. It's one of the cooler anime Cartoon network shows. I will have a bigger review when I have seen more. |

Then the action kicked in and I enjoyed it. I would've given it more but the ending annoyed me, and a handful of the episodes bored me, to the point where I wanted to just skip ahead. It's got the same feel as Love Hina, but it's got a different taste. It's no longer a love-comedy, but a comedy-action. Trigun (10/10): I've seen it plenty of times and it never manages to get old for me. I'm not sure I can say the same for the manga, but the anime is certainly a classic. Gunslinger Girl (8/10): A short, 13 episode anime about girls-turned-androids for an Italian organization meant to stop terrorists. Suprisingly, there's not much action for an anime called "Gunslinger Girl", but that's alright. The heart lies in the story of the girls and how they still have souls, despite being almost complete mechanized and have become nothing but tools of violence. |

A little confusing artistically, but it wrapped up really nicely. Laputa Castle in the Sky: 9/10. Spectacular movie. Incredibly enertaining despite being basically a kid's movie. Lupin III Castle of Caligostro: 9/10. Although the series is enjoyable, this movie blows it out of the water. Porco Rosso: 7.5/10: Enertaining movie, a little unusual but nothing special. Gender: Posts: 46 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Ranma 1/2: 5/10 (that rating's relation to the anime title is a sheer coincidence) Overly perverted in many ways. The anime isn't exactly censored where is counts (ie blatant nudity). Akane is just stupid and unreasonable, and usually, the characters are out to kill each other for some reason or another remotely or directly revolving around Ranma getting married. Not like there is no story at all though. It is at least entertaining and has action. Inuyasha: 7/10 It is far more exciting than Ranma, and now we tie in an excellent theme, dealing with racism. There are just too many characters that make a strong enterance, and get left behind the next episode. But it doesn't have the annoyingly high ammount of pervertedness. There are a few loose ends, but character development is good, especially between Inuyasha and Kagome. Great show overall. Bleach: 9-10/10 Mhm, this is my favorite show of all time. How do I explain that this storyline is the best? Firstoff, there are very few characters that get left behind once they make an introduction and these characters make distinct ties with one another. I'm not giving away too much. The show also spoofs itself at the end of each episode.. For being so serious, this anime has a great sense of humor. It is rather bloody though. Not for squeamish people. |
