Yusuke's fight with the Doctor is quite cool, though.

The one that comes to mind is the one in Cowboy Bebop, where Spike fights Ed's father. It's mostly for the humour factor though; seeing a kick-ass guy like Spike casually defeated.

I haven't seen much of 'Samurai Champloo' yet, but there's a pretty sweet fight in the first episode--Jin and Mugen (the main characters) tear it up in a burning building. Pretty badass.

I also enjoyed the battle between Luffy's crew and the Kuro pirates in 'One Piece', and the swank one-on-several fight between Eva-02 and the production models in...well, whichever of the Evangelion movies it took place in. (God knows I can't keep 'em straight for hell.)

Ichigo vs. Byakuya Kuchiki was cooler, when Ichigo got the bankai ability. I thought it was a great effect when he sped around Byakuya.

If it counts, in Advent Children, the fight scene against Bahamut. Not only because Yuffie was in it.

I dont watch much of current day anime.

However, one anime fight that stands out in my mind was Goku VS "Jackie Chun" in the original Dragonball. Long, but not too long, and most of the moves were actually visible. Too bad all the moves in the ever-so crappy DBZ and DBGT are super fast.

The fight between Wrath and Gluttony was awesome... Actually, it wasn't so much a fight, as Wrath having the crap beaten out of him, and then dieing rather painfully.

That... one fight between Naruto and Sasuke that everyone makes AMVs with. They go all super-saiyan-like, and... stuff. Naruto makes a scratch on Sasuke's headband or something, I just watched it for the pretty fighting.

Even though I agree with most that Goku vs Frieza was one of the best fights in anime. I also liked Super Android 17 vs Goku in GT. For one thing, 17 appeared to be unbeatable after revealing that he could absorb the fighter's energy from every attack thrown. All hope was seemingly lost after 17 absorbed Goku's 10x Kamehameha in ss4...
