It's called "breaking the fourth wall" and it's genius because the dubbing company decided the story was retarded, so they did whatever they wanted with it and it turned out awesome.

Pokemon and Dragonball Z. Dragonball Z's popularity has gone down because they kept showing way too much reruns. Also every Dragonball Z story is repetitive. They all have the same basic story.

He's probably talking about the subbed anime/manga. The dub has yet to appear on Toonami (Which hasn't been airing commericals of it yet), but I doubt it's going to be any bad.
