Gender: Posts: 787 Thanks: 4 Thanked 3 Times in 3 Posts | The day has finally come, Naruto hit the American airwaves yesterday, and I have to say, I'm quite suprised on how well done the anime dubbing was. Naruto's voice, although it could have been better, was bearable and did not mess with the character's personaily, Ikura's voice was spot-on, exactly how I imagined his voice, Sakura's was the same, exactly how I imagined it. (All other main characters, like Kakashi and Sasuske, had not spoken yet in the anime... So I can't tell you if their voices were well done...)) Pros: +The voice acting was good, it luckily did not follow the tragic footsteps of One Peice's horrible voice acting... +Most of the fighting and action was still there, only less blood and gore. + Sexy-no-jitsu!!! +The overall production quality was good. Cons: - They could have done better with Naruto's voice... - The Japanese opening and endings were gone, replaceing it with rock music... BVut it could have been worse, they could have used rap or hip-hop. *shudders* Overall: A well done translation of Naruto, and if the editing of the blood and gore got you down, not to worry! The uncut DVDs are said to be released in December! Total Score: 8.5/10 But I still wish they got it on [AS].... [ September 11, 2005, 11:01 AM: Message edited by: Full Metal 9-Volt ] |

I may actually start watching Toonami again. And Zabuza is being voiced by Steven Jay Blum - Spike himself. Sweet. |

I don't understand this Naruto kid. he wants to be a great a ninja a master of stealth yet he wheres an orgenge jumpsuite, don't get much more vibrent then that, He also makes himself look like a complete fool in that photo he was in, and is the Sexy-no-jitsu really that great of an idea? * Ties on blindfold and smokes a cigerett.* Okay fire when ready. |

(I don't have very high hopes for Naruto...it's been going downhill alot recently) |

Sakura actually sounds better in English. Far less squeaky and whiney. And Naruto's voice isn't too bad - just give his actress time to get used to the character. She'll probably have the quality smoothed out by the time the fight with Zabuza comes up. |

I wouldn't have thought it possible, but by damn the dub is GOOD. So far, every voice I've heard matches fairly well with their Japanese counterparts, even Naruto's. I proclaim myself satisfied D: |

(Curse you, 4Kids! You turned one of my favorite Mangas into an abomination!!!!) |

Naruto has been destoryed completely, The voices are completely different, and they do not represent the original idea from the Japanese animation. For me, this is another case of Anime dubbing gone wrong. REAL. WRONG. |
