From what I've seen, this "Kappa Mikey" show is a simple parody. Everything gets parodied every now and then. Anime is no exception.

As for Nickelodeon being "Anti-Anime", I'm happy for that. It's supposed to be a channel for normal, non-Anime cartoons.

I'm not really too big of an Anime fan anymore. The newer animes, such as Inuyasha and Naruto BLOW. Then again....I dont like Nickelodeon anymore either. I'd take Rocko over Catscratch any day.

I respect your opinion and all, but please don't judge shows by the American dubbed versions. Dubbed Anime is so terrible...the voices sound so awkwardly placed and it bugs the hell outta me.

I might suggest watching some fansubbed Naruto, and other animes like Azumanga Daioh.

Guys, calm the hell down. It's a parody show. Things get parodied. Good things get parodied. When a thing you like gets parodied, you laugh.

And about Teen Titans: Teen Titans could have been a great show if they didn't try to animefy it. The stupid little graphics they put in usually ruined all the plots. Plus I think they should have gotten someone else to do Robin's voice, had them use their Secret Identities while they're with each other in the tower (You know, call each other by their first name in stead of always CYBORG! WE'RE OUT OF MILK!). If that show was written more like the Paul Dini and Bruce Timm cartoons (Batman, Superman, JLA and JLU), it would have been very cool. Especially if they kept the same freakin' continuity.

Ugh, that show bugged me.

Listen folks, it ain't the fact that it IS a parody that bugs me. It's the fact that it's a BAD parody that bugs me. It tends to turn out that the american fellow is the only one who acts normal in most cases. In the Japanese characters, everyone's head bulges at every chance, and people tend to move at a speed of two frames per second. All except for mikey himself, that is. Every one of the characters is exceedingly idiotic. The girls randomly repeat things my nephew Jarod tends to say allot (My nephew acts like a girl), and there really is no plot. And to even GIVE the idea that an anime like Lilymu would be popular is a complete exageration. I usually enjoy parodies, like song parodies, Wierd Al Yankovich, and parody pages in Gamepro and Game Informer. This one is so out of the Parody zone and into the insult zone that it almost hurts to see it.

About the theme song: Beat Crusaders is a J-Pop group with many songs, and they sing the theme song for this show. That is the only redeeming quality, and it doesn't help the show that much either. The song is one that I used to think was a deliberate poke at the theme songs to othe Anime, but it turns out it is, just with a Japanese band.

I still hate Kappa Mikey, even though it is just a parody. That's just my opinion.

^That's EXACTLY what I was going to say!

What I think is absolutely odd is that Mikey doesn't know how to do Funny and Fanky Cartoon Poses. I don't know ANY cartoon character besides him that can't do those. Both Anime AND American.(I couldn't find many funny Anime Pics)

You people take Anime a little too seriously. They're friggin' cartoons. It's not like Kappa Mikey is making fun of your mom or anything.

Get over it. People are gonna take potshots at whatever they feel like and this time it happened to be anime. If you don't like it don't watch it.

Also I'm not gonna call you dumb for liking Naruto (not here anyway) but from what I heard the quality has gone down the toilet and I'm stumped as to why people still watch it. Plus there's all sorts of much better anime that gets overshadowed by the cookie-cutter shonens that get pumped out of SJ every five months and that's annoying.

And to the person who's internet raging about the American guy being the only "normal" person in the show, well, people in anime hardly act normal at all.

(I haven't seen the show but apparently it's about some otaku loser from America who goes to Japan and everyone is animeified because Japan is obviously like that. In that case I don't find it to be so much a parody as some sort of PSA or NHK analog.)

^Unfortunately, you are right, although I do not appreciate you insulting any lack of grey-matter that I would have within my head; You actually summed up some of the things that make it bad, but look at it this way: Making an American Character seem more intelligent than a Japanese character is insulting, whether or not it is simply a potshot. Still, this argument died down ages ago, therefore there is no need to further elaborate on my reason for hating that show.

It is commonplace that SJ is stupid. There are better Anime out there, like Trinity blood and Helsing, and of course there are some popular shows that are good. And anime characters act normal for their worlds, and only in rare cases of comedy do they make exxagerated stupidity common. You overlook things. That 'person' was me, by the way, and though indeed I am seeming stupid in my endevours, it is only my personality. There is no true reason to call me an idiot for that. And yes, Naruto has become dull; It still had its good moments, despite its later downfall. I rebuke several animes anyway, so attacking american cartoons is only second nature for a person who attacks a group of other things. I have an opinion. I guess I'm damned for it.
