Also, American shows will always pwn anime. The huge amount of money Nick makes is WAAYYYY more than ANYTHING Japan can ever HOPE to make. |

and for all of you who cried when they made fun of speed racer, get over it. That show sucked. They spent almost five minutes each episode in a freeze frame talking in repitition. That deserves to get made fun of! And do you know why the creators of the show did that? To save money because too much animation in cartoons back then was expensive, so they decided to be cheap.

| Gunjinkeeper | ^^*sigh* As long as you yet keep to your stereotype of animes all being the same, which is proven to not be true, then you will be ignored for your biased and untrue comments, and your heed not be taken. And by the way: Robot anime are cool, although some are low quality. Gundam is a very intriqueing franchise, by the way, and I know very many people who would openly murder you for calling it stupid. And what the hell is wrong with liking BoBoBo, SuperLuigi128? Even Andre frickin' likes it, and he's one of the more serious members. You just happen to be two-faced, by the way, as you were singing Anime's praises for a while there, and then, BOOM, you discover that Avatar is American, and attack Anime for not having Avatar. Geez, I see no reason to take you seriously either. |

Anime looks like anime because it uses computers animation. The new american cartoons you see now are the result of improved animations and such in America. Just because it looks like anime doesn't mean it's intended to be anime. So all you people who hate american cartoons and flame them for being "like anime", SHUT UP! |

Anyway. Computers didn't help to push American cartoons further into the sytle of Japanese anime. All computers did was further the degeneration of cartoons into 3D CGI garbage wiith the same plot over and over, always about anthropomorphic animals going on wacky and fun adventures for the whole family. What didn't degenerate into this degenerated into dry, vapid comdies in a school setting (often also incorporating anthropomorphic animals as then companion of the main character, your average preteen WASP.) made in Flash, all with the same damn animation style. Seeing some of the new shows on Cartoon Network, I haven't even been able to tell the difference between some shows. I certainly wouldn't call that an improvement. An improvement from the good cartoons (don't kill me, anime fans.) such as (I know I will be immediately bombarded with accusations of tastelessness) Ed, Edd, n Eddy. EEE was god damn brilliant. EEE exceeded the barrier of tradition and sameness plaguing the cartoon industry. Stylized, creative... hilarious. It exemplified everything that made American cartoons great. It was the last major cartoon in the world to be hand-drawn. And? With a lack for support of hand-drawn animation, and the absence of any major hand-drawn animation studio in the world, it was forced to use the same damn thing every other cartoon used. It's declined. It's definitely declined. Not only because of the new animation style, but because of the switch from eternal summer (which was one of EEE's hallmarks) to a school setting. Of course, it could be argued that plot ideas were running out, but isn't it better for a series to explode rather than fade away? But I'm rambling now. Computers didn't improve American animation. They destroyed it. |

Dear god, My Gym Partner's a Monkey makes me want to vomit. But yeah, what I just said. I thank thee. |

the point is some of the greatest shows we've had over here, an example being Voltron, are in fact anime. of course, if you weren't a child of the 80's like I was then you probably don't know what I'm talking about.
