Uh, wow, I found out what anime had the most episodes.

At first I thought it was one piece with 285 episodes, after a quick google search it turns out it is an anime known as Sazae-san, which has about 4000-5000 episodes. It's been running since 1969.

Arrow

Yeah, I remember one of my friends saying that. I thought it would be, like, a 'famous' anime here, like Doremon or something like that, but Sazae-san kicks it's tushie by an order of magnitude.

Seriously though, how do you come up with 4000+ episodes on the same characters? I mean, I can think about an episode when they go to the beach, and they have a birthday party, but I don't think I could keep that up for several decades and not outright reuse ideas.

...That is ridiculous. Geez, you'd have to be dedicated to the extreme to watch every single one of THOSE episodes.

I don't know how they could have made that many episodes and the show not lose everyone of the fans. I would have got sick of wacthing it.

When you get around the 1000 episode range, you'll probably lose more viewers due to old age.

Indeed, and apparently it is still running, I'll have to look into that.

I thought the DragonBall series would win against One Piece, but this is, well, disturbing......

Well, at the rate they're going, you'll need to wait seventy years before it'll hit 4000 episodes. By then, Sazae-san will have subtlely, but completely taken over the world.

Sazae-san... never heard of it. Yeah, you'd have to be pretty damn dedicated to the series to watch that many episodes.

I would hate to try and collect that series, I wouldn't have a room left after putting all the DVDs in it.

...you can't fit ~1500 minutes on a single DVD.

southpark is running out of ideas and in turn comes up with their own crazy insane new ones...their episodes take about 5-6 days to make with usual touchups just hours before it airs.
