This forum needs activity, so I am making a (nearly) Daily anime random news thread!

So old news but thought people might like to know:

As of January 1st, Pokemon USA will take over all aspects of Pokemon licensing from 4Kids. Since Pokemon USA was founded in 2001 licensing responsibilities were split between the two companies, but now all licensing will be handled by Pokemon USA.

In addition, ANN has learned that 4Kids will not be producing or distributing the English language version of the next Pokemon TV series to be released in North America, Battle Frontier.

No one from Pokemon USA was available to confirm how (or when) the next series will be produced and distributed.

The irony of all this is, 4Kids lost the rights to the only anime they dubbed correctly.

Simple, pokemon was already sucky, so there wasn't much they could do to make it even more crappy. :P

Short news I know, but it should be known:

"Fullmetal Alchemist volume 10 was ranked #146 on the USA Today Booklist Top 150 for the week ending November 19. It was the only manga on the list."

a lot of 4kids shows suck remember (well, not really)how bad the kirby shows dubbing was/is? it was/stil is pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Most dubbed anime sucks. Hell, most anything transfered from one language and culture to another usually sucks.

Hello, IM a fan of One Piece and I recently heard a rumor online that 4kids is no longer dubbing/adapting the series. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?... if it is true, I would also like to know why if possible, as well as if another company might pick up the dubbing rights. Thank you for your time.

I would recommend that you direct your inquiries to Toei Animation. At this point 4Kids does not plan to adapt any further episodes of the series.

Rejoice, rejoice my fans! This is good news. Hell even if another company can't pick it up it's good news... at least 4kids isn't raping it then. SO yes, be happy, this is truely a time to celebrate.
Some maybe wondering what would become of this site if 4kids does stop dubbing One Piece. Well, it would depend on whether or not another dubbing company picks it up. It could just be that no other company wants it (though I doubt this) and One Piece will remain as is. It could also become the DBZ of this century and bring in Viz or Funi or whoever millions of dollars. (which would amuse me to no end because then 4kids would be all "WTF? that's the same show we had an it's bringing in millions!" .. but we don't know yet. Until we know the fate of One Piece, Im not going to say anything about the future of this site.. but hey, it makes a good archive =P
