| Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: In my pants Gender: Posts: 1,657 | I've noticed around some other communities, some people don't know actually how to get anime, or even what ones to get, so I might as well post a guide here. You can get anime one out of four ways: 1. Download Fansubs. 2. Search Youtube for said anime. 3. Look on television for dubs/translations. 4. Buy dubbed DVDs ---------------------------------------------------- Guide for option 1: Fansubs. Alright, so you want to download fansubs, right? Ok. In order to download fansubs, you'll need: EMule. An anime you wish to watch. A fansub group that has translated said anime. And a site where you can find the anime downloads. Step by step guide: Step one: Get emule from here. Step two: Decide on an anime. Step three: Search for that anime on aniDB.net [How to use aniDB.net] One: Search for said anime, in this case it will be Full Metal Alchemist. Two: Click on Full Metal Alchemist link. Three: Click on an episode and have Emule open. Four: Now scroll to the side and you will see the action table, it should say 'add' or 'download'. Five: Click it and pretso! The anime you want should be on your emule download list. Step Four: Wait for download, and when it is done, enjoy. -------------------------------- Guide to find an anime on Youtube. <.<;; Step one: Go on youtube. Step two: In the search box type in an anime you wish to watch and it's episode. (Eg. 'One Piece episode 291) Step Three (If you find the anime): Watch and enjoy. Step Three (If you can't find an anime): It sadly has not been uploaded, aww, if you really wanna watch that anime, try one of the other three alternatives. ---------------------------------- Guide to find anime... on a... TV. -.-;; Step one: Find anime you wanna watch. Step two: Find if has been dubbed. Step three: If it has been dubbed, find what channel/time it is on. Step four: Turn on channel at time and enjoy. ------------------------------------- Guide to find anime on dvd. -.-;;! Step one: Find anime you wanna watch. Step two: Find if has been dubbed. Step three: If it has been dubbed, search for DVD. Step four: Buy DVD, and enjoy. Done ![]() Edit: Stickified for easier finding! Last edited by Masahiro; 02-02-2007 at 10:15 AM. |

I'm watching Elfen lied (gore-splosions! yay!), and the only problem is some idiot (who happens to be the only one who's loaded the entire series) has loaded it with the name spelt backwards. |

YouTube is the ultimate source for free, non-download fansubs, and watching any anime I want on YouTube (Except Detective Conan, which was neglected to be uploaded...) is a prime enjoyment for me. It's easy, simple, high quality, enjoyable. Besides, 5 minute clips are easily eradicated by searching something like "Death Note Episode 11 full". Usually, the full episdoe will appear. If not, oh well, watch the five-minute segment clips. |

It certainly is viewable, but the anime I'm used to come at more than four times the pixel count. This higher resolution really comes in handy when you're reading things, which are a lot sharper than YouTube's Gaussian blur fest. The addition of YouTube's flash wrapper can also introduce annoying choppyness/slowdown on lower-end machines. |

| The OTHER Supermod Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Dry land. Gender: Posts: 5,198 | ^In a way, it does... Simply by how much it slows down and how terrible the video quality is in some cases. In some areas, you're right, YouTube DOES suck. Bad uploading and awful typing make some of the videos nigh unwatchable. However, there are high-quality full episodes hidden in there, and I've seen a lot of them, so sometimes your computer just can't handle the videos and won't load them or play them, and the quality can come out as awful depending on certain things in your computer as well. Sometimes, your machine decides YouTube more than you think, but you're right, YouTube doesn't truly decide your machine. You decide that when you buy it. ![]() |
