Question What ever happened to Futurma?

I heard that Futurama was canceled a long time ago. WHY DID THEY DO THAT!!! Well mabey they canceled it becaused the jokes were more hardcore than the simpsons. And they were afraid of people getting offened.

What do you think?

It had poor ratings for some reason. They're bringing it back next year.

Your reason is stupid, guy who has a misspelled username.

Repeats are on Adult Swim during Monday to Thursday or something, I think. I heard that new episodes are coming to Comedy Central.

No, Canada has no new episodes, it's just reruns like we see on Adult Swim.

Futurama was canceled because It didn't really get a fair chance at all. Fans tuned in to watch it to find out that sports would run into the show and show very little of the show it's self. I'm not sure but I think that like over 50% of the time it wasn't even on... not all the fans are going to come on to watch when they will miss over half the ep.

Anyway, yes, more episodes are on there way, but before fox announced this there was talk of Cartoon Networks, Adult Swim of buying the show, this never happened, but If Fox doesn't go on with the show, and make more episodes for TV, I do see this happening. But only if Fox doesn't think Futurama is worth hanging on to, but yah, Expect many more eps either way.

Fox Making new eps on DVD, DVD sales will decide if the show last(on fox).

^Looking at Wiki, I'm somewhat-wrong. CC has ordered 13 more episodes of the series, but according to some fansite they'll be DVD-episodes.

After word from two voice actors had spread during the last two days, the news agency Reuters is now reporting that "Comedy Central has resurrected the former Fox animated series from "The Simpsons" creator Matt Groening and David X. Cohen. At least 13 new episodes will be produced."

They go on to quote David Bernath, senior vice president for programming at the network.

"We are thrilled that Matt Groening and 20th Century Fox Television have decided to produce new episodes of 'Futurama' and that Comedy Central will be the first to air them."
"There is a deep and passionate fan base for this intelligent and very funny show that matches perfectly with our audience, and it is great that we can offer them not just the existing library but something they've never seen as well."

A press release from Comedy Central dated June 22nd supposedly verifies this information but is not available to the public on their media website yet.

Update: It seems that some of these articles got some things confused. The 4 DVD movies which we reported about a few days ago will eventually be shown as 4 episodes each on Comedy Central. This makes the number of episodes 16, not 13. But as I understand it, there is no other new content other than those movies.
Yah, I got my faq's wrong, although, yah... this to me kind of sucks, I don't like that CC is gonna get it.

It is really cool and funny. I think thye stopped it because the creators where focusing more on stuff like family guy because it got them more money because more people liked it.

Unless I'm mistaken, Matt didn't do a thing with FG. Just Futurama and Simpsons.

I'm actually afraid to see what will come of one of my favourite shows, as both Simpsons and Family Guy suck now. I hope these new episodes don't degrade what I knew and loved as Futurama.
