Everyone seems to love Beavis & Butthead, but what about Daria?

I have a confession to make: I am a huge fan of Daria, the best thing that MTV ever aired and ever will air.

Perhaps it's the way I'm able to relate to Daria - how she has to deal with being surrounded by idiots, her relative indifference to Volleyball during the show's theme song, or just simply the fact that she's about as cynical as cynical gets. But one thing is for sure: every episode of this show has some of the most memorable bon-mots in the history of television.

I get the impression that this show is more geared toward a female audience, but I don't care. Personally, I don't see how anyone with half a brain could not enjoy the humor in this show, which is clever enough to appeal to the intelligent yet obvious enough for the average joe to recognize.

If you've never seen Daria, just search for it on YouTube, it'll be easy enough to find.

(Note: for those of you who don't understand the title of this topic, Daria was originally a recurring character on Beavis & Butthead.)

I remember that show, didn't it go down the same path as Beavis and Butthead(as in down the drain)? I remember seeing her in epsiodes of Beavis and Butthead, as well. She says things like "Get out of here, Beavis." Her show... was pretty good as far as spin-offs go. One of the better ones.

Daria's sister Quin sees her about to take a bite out of a hamburger
"EEEEWWW, Are you really gonna eat all that fat?"
[deadpan]"No, I'm gonna stick it in my boots, because I love the squishy feeling between my toes."[/deadpan]

Personally I liked Daria for one because it was played late night and two because the character feels like a person I might know, like an old friend.

I liked Daria in Beavis and Butthead. I don't much remember the spin-off. All I remember is she wore geeky glasses, and that made her hotter than hell to me.

Daria never really went down the drain - though the first season was easily the best, the rest of the series remained consistently good throughout. Some of the episodes dealing with Tom got to be a bit emo-ish and went almost against the grain of the whole series, but the good far outweighed the bad up until the very end. Of course, I still haven't seen the second movie and series finale, Is it College Yet.

Anyways, I'm sad today because they pulled all the episodes off of YouTube. Thank god for BitCome... um... VHS tapes of the series... *insert the dog with the shifty eyes*
