Well, a friend of mine forced me to go to an anime club at my school, and they ended up talking about what the club would be like ect.

We also watched the first two episodes of Trigun (subbed). I loved it to say the least.

So when did you guys start to watch anime?

No clue. I guess it was Pokemon that first got me into it. It was the good season, at least.

My babysitter was really into it, and he introduced me not only to anime(via Sailor Moon, which I hated at first because it was "for girls), but to Final Fantasy and a lot of different stuff. He was so awesome.

I saw anime early early early. I can't even remember what the first one was. Thundercats, Super Mario Brothers, or Transformers.

Super Mario Brothers, Thundercats, and Transformers aren't anime. They were good ol' American cartoons, Saturday morning for the former and action for the latter two.

I started on anime when I was about 5, with the first remembered instance of anime viewing being Macross. I might've also watched some Astro Boy at around the same time. The first concrete memories, though, were of reading the Doraemon manga stowed in my cousin's drawer.

Oh, and how could I have forgotten? Somewhere in there, I found Nadia of the Mysterious Seas. That was the most wonderful thing Gainax has produced, far superior to NGE and FLCL.

My first anime experience was either 'Kimba the White Lion' or 'Speed Racer'. My memory is fuzzy, but I remember watching 'em both whenever they were on. That was back when I was in first and second grade...

The first one I watched was either Doraemon dubbed in Chinese (O_O) or Samurai Pizza Cats on the television. My first (English) cartoon that I really got into and fell in love with was She-Ra. I think it kinda motivated both my love for fantasy and animation.

My first anime was...I think...sadly was Pokemon. Then Toonami came in and I got into DBZ. Then I started getting my own stuff like Evangelion. At that point more anime was on CN and AS was getting started.

I would consider Transformers an anime myself, given that people actually DIE in it, unlike most American cartoons, and given the style of drawing used.

My first anime: Speed Racer
Anime that got me hooked: DBZ
All-time favorite anime: Love Hina

The first 'anime' I ever saw was Speed Racer (although I don't really consider that anime..) and I was frightened. BUT I became interested in Anime and Manga through the art styles of various games (such as the Megaman series, FF6, Dragon Warrior, and others I fail to remember at the moment). The peculiar thing was, I started drawing in a similar style as I grew up, without knowing it it. I used to always draw Venom, Spiderman, Wolverine, and Megaman.. But I kept making them look different (except megaman..). I really dove into the Manga style once I became interested in programming video games and lost most interest in drawing realism. Now, my style is pretty much my own (although I imitate others from time to time out of boredom).. a mish mash of Anime-Manga/Traditional Hero-Villain Comic Books.. with a healthy helping of Johnny the Homicidal Maniac thrown in.
