This anime is about a kid who wants to be a mercenary. He's quite good in battle, and an excellent pilot. His best friend is a technical genius. Along the way, he meets a kendo girl(amazing how long ki remains useful O_o) and a catgirl that's.....really REALLY strong.

Personally, I don't care too much for this anime. However, a psychotic cat-girl who's physically stronger than damn near EVERYONE is quite an original idea IMO....plus she's frickin' hilarious. It's like....Ryoko without the lightsabers and Tenchi fixation

A kid? Didn't seem like one to me when I saw the anime. Especially the first episode when Gene's at a hotel with some...company. Which version of the anime did you see? Cuz it sounds a bit like a fansub gone wrong.

Anyway I like this anime alot. Though when it was CN it was pretty...edited. And even on Adult Swim we still only got the edited version. The DVDs are pretty expensive online...but I only bought vol. 1.
Vol. 2 has some good episodes. But vol. 3 is the best. It also contains a really funny episode which never aired. Oh well.

Thumbs up

I loved this show. Its characterized best by Gene. How can you not love a sly, sharp-shooting hero whose success with the gun (and with the ladies) is matched only by his propensity to get space-sick?

Anyways, yeah, it rocks.

This was definitly one of my favorite shows back in the...better days of Toonami. I could remember racing upstairs and watching Tenchi Muyo and Outlaw Star
