Shaman King dub

I saw an episode a while ago...Ugh...

I started getting interested in Shaman King, then that broke away when I decided to play Return to Castle Wolfenstein more. Fox had me for a bit with their new ****. But it gets old fast when I don't particularly care whats going on in the shows.

I really like the Shaman King manga, but the anime really sucks. They choose the worse voices possible for the characters, and their editing is very wussy. For example, in Yoh's fight against Tokagero (who took over Ryu's body), Yoh got slashed across the chest. In the manga, you see a large slash across his chest, in which you see some blood coming across. In the anime, Yoh got slashed, the camera shows his chest, and...NOTHING HAPPENS!! NOT ONLY IS YOH A SHAMAN, BUT HE IS ALSO COMPLETELY RESISTANT TO ANY DAMAGE WHATSOEVER!!! That's 4Kid's for you, taking good anime and making it as crappy and wussy as possible.

I'd like to see how they handle the portion of the show where Yoh dies.

4Krap sucks ass. If they're gonna censor series that bad,why even dub them in the first place?that conveys the message that what they're dubbing is a children's show,therefore the actual un-edited show gains an unfair reputation.Grr.They should at least keep the characters' original personalities intact the best they can.And of course they refuse to release their crap dubs unedited on DVD for some reason.And instead of taking the time to think whether or not their edits make any sense,they rush,resulting in chopped up garbage only fit for a child unaware of the edits.(LolOlO Shdwo RaELM LoLlolooOO SwOrdSS No CutT Noo MroE LolOLlOjkd)
They take out the original music,and several other tiny things they have no right to tamper with as well,and don't even get me started on the dubbed voices.They have a voice actor who sounds like friggin' skeletor!4Kids are completely unaware of the line between editing and buthering,and happily ruin series to the point that they aren't even the original creations,because 4Kids are a bunch of Soccermoms with no friggin' taste!!

Wow. You just spoke the minds of thousands of people. I also have a problem with the names. I understand Joey, in Yu-Gi-Oh. It would be too hard for a 6-year old kid to pronounce Jounochi(sp?) But the names in Shaman King are the worst I have ever heard. They changed Manta's name to Morty. To me, Morty catches me as a nerdy name, but it fits, I guess. But then there's Ren. They changed his name to Lenny. Lenny! This is my opinion: LENNY IS NOT A VILLIAN'S NAME!! TO ME, LENNY MAKES A BETTER NAME FOR A DOG!! They also changed Ryu's name to Rio, which doesn't make any sense at all. Apparently, 4Kids is trying to eliminate as much Japanese culture from their shows as possible. I wouldn't have been surprised if they renamed Amidimaru to Adam, Tokagero to Tobby, and Yoh to, I don't know, Yolk maybe? I was also bugged with something 4Kids did with Yu-Gi-Oh. In the episode where Bandit Kieth was eleminated from the tournament, he was supposed to threaten Pegasus by holding a gun to his gun, and he would shoot if he didn't get the money he wanted. In the anime, however, they replace the gun with, wait for it...his out-stretched index finger. I can imagine what the security thought about this. "OH MY GOD!! HE'S GOT AN OUT-STRETCHED INDEX FINGER POINTED AT PEGASUS'S HEAD!! IF WE DON'T GIVE HIM THE MONEY, HE'LL POKE PEGASUS'S EYE!!!"

4Kids shouldn't be dubbing.Instead,they should be...I dunno,editing teletubbies for easily offended...Fetuses,I guess.

They usually do this to the shows they put on TV. Hopefuly it doesn't carry over into the VHS/DVD releases.

If anyone is to blame its Fox and the WB. They usually have these edits done because they are trying to entertain little kids who could never understand some of the stuff that goes on in unedited versions.

Hell, kids are stupid. If they didn't edit the shows some kid would **** the rest of us over by emulating something from the show thus making the parents believe Japanese cartoons = BAD or EVIL or something.

You have a point there, Rattan. Let's just hope neither Fox nor WB decide to show episodes of Naruto. That would be a disaster.

That pissed me off. You think kids would know that a gun was meant to be there anyway.

They had to edit that because kids can't tell the diference between reality and fantasy. But in Dragon Ball, they hold somebody holding a gun to a guy's head, so I don't know why 4Kids had to change that. Probably because they're a bunch of pansies.
