I've heard rumors Japan's .Hack//DUSK, the third chapter in the .Hack legacy (told through anime and video gameplay) is going to soon be dubbed and available to own on DVD. Can anyone confirm or denounce this rumor? Anyone know if Cartoon Network is working to get the rights to DUSK now that SIGN's on its thrid consecutive run?

I wonder if LIMINALITY will ever see the light of the small screen? ^_^

I haven't heard anything about that.

and I doubt liminality will go eyond the DVDs. I think it's meant as a little bonus to the fans.

Well, on the LIMINALITY bonus disc in the 4th game, Quarantine, the opener to the DUSK series is offered as an extra, so at the very least, it should be offered to the American public. (this isn't my source of the rumor, mind you, just something I noticed)

I figure we'll get it on DVD, not tv. Just a feeling.

The show is kinda kiddy, so almost anyone could go for it. Cartoon network, Fox Kids, KidsWB, hell, even CBS. Unlike SIGN, DUSk (or LEGENDS as I have heard it called) is very much for a lower age demographic.

There's a bit of crap in there that would be a reason not to air it and or edit the hell out of it.

Particularly Rena and Shugo seem a bit too close for brother and sister.

Then there is a few other things...but not much.

Frankly I thought the series was absolute ****. Its based off of the manga....but it doesn't stick to the plot. That and I'm not aware if any of the main people were working on it.

Does that mean I have to get some of the .hack games to understand what happens in .hack//dusk?

I think that youd'd be able to understand DUSK on its own pretty well, but I haven't read much of the manga.

Alright, let's see.

The manga can be read by itself without playing the game. Playing the game, however, gives you more in-depth information, such as how the characters will remember characters from the game. Not to mention it will also give you a further look into Balmung so he won't just be a random dude in the manga.

And I see I'm not the only one who noticed Shugo and Rena are a bit close.

Yes. It shows how Balmung was at first an anal snotfaced prick who wanted to grind Kite's bones to make his bread....

Now he's all "I CAN ROLEPLAY BEING DRUNK!!!"...

I believe Bandai licensed .hack//DUSK, or that they will in the future...

[points at Shugo and Rena; screams] TWINCEST!!! AHH OMG

Yeah, I think someone has the rights to bring .hack//DUSK to the U.S.

If you want Dusk, read the manga.

If you want something loosely based on the manga and replaces Wiseman for Sanjuro and is pretty damn creepy at many different moments....go for Legend of the Twilight Bracelet.

They kill Silver Knight in one of them. Anime...maybe the manga too.

I love Sanjuro.

I'm a bit of a hardcore .hack fan, and I read up on the history, the timelines, etc...

Sanjuro > Wiseman

Good riddance. SK was a dweeb and a half.

Hopefully, though, the same thing that happened to Slayers won't happen to .Hack//DUSK.

From what I heard, someone like FoxKids or a sub-company of FoxKids or something like that bought the rights to Slayers some time ago (beating out Cartoon Network who also wanted the rights). Only prob was, FK thought Slayers was a kid's show, and it wasn't until after they purchased the rights did they realize Slayers was most definately not a kiddy cartoon. So for now it just sits and waits until FK decides to sell the rights away, if they ever do.

I was saying I hope the same thing of it being bought, but then unusable, doesn't happen to .Hack//DUSK.
