I've also been an active member of the boards there for a while as well, and I must say that if you like anime and games then you will NOT be disappointed. It has taught me much about the subculture of anime over the years and I've spent much money on their merchandise. Please take the time to read the 500+ strips and prepare to enter a world so unfanthomabley amazing, that you will piss your pants. ----- ~Katsuchiyo |

It has brilliant characters, an amazing storyline, great humor, and Fred-sempai is an amazing artist. Unless you don't like anything manga stylish or video game related jokes.. |

| Marshmallow Knight ☆ Supermod | I like it. I like the style, and the characters are iconic. One of the better webcomics. |

| Guest | Shameless plugging bad I'll leave this topic open for anyone to advertise their favorite sites. Just....no plugging in other topics That being said.... Sluggy Freelance I'm not a hypocrite >_> |

And the comic is basically manga inspired. Quote:
) Besides MT I love PvP, Sinfest, AMD, and MacHall.Sluggy, 9thelsewhere and a few others aren't bad as well. For organizing all those I use Comic-nation by the way. ![]() [ April 28, 2004, 05:10 PM: Message edited by: The Illage Vidiot - Largo ]

Maybe you haven't gotten to far into it, at first Fred draws the characters (Erika and Nanasawa) strikingly similar but eventually you can tell the two apart very easily. (Erika's taller, more busty , Nanasawa is exact opposite basically.)

| Guest | ********* and 8-Bit Theater are my favorites. But ********* is deeply Anime related, whereas 8-Bit Theater is only slightly so. This thread isn't shameless plugging. ********* is basically Manga. (Well not really, but it's sold in the Manga section of bookstores and it's very popular with the "Otaku" community, so that should suffice) Your post was shameless plugging though. Sluggy isn't Manga at all. I post at ********* forums pretty often. [ April 29, 2004, 10:27 PM: Message edited by: UserGoogol ] |

| Guest | Luckily i've been able to successfully group the females into....groups.I'll elaborate 1.The B*tchy One-I think this is the one called Nanasawa, although i'm probably mistaken.Anyways,it's self-explanatory 2.Generic Japanese Girls-There's about 7 of these total, each with the same distinct personality:Obsessing over Piro. 3.Ping-The only girl whose name i've been able to remember, and she's not even technically a girl so much as an intelligent sex doll. 4.Goth Girl-Alright,I have no idea who the hell this is. |

| Guest | Define manga then. Sluggy Freelance runs like a lot of lighthearted animé/manga. And he was going on about how great the boards were--that's plugging. In fact, making a topic to advertise a site--any site--is supposed to be locked. |

| Guest | It's not plugging for the same reason that saying "Gunslinger Girl is t3h awesome!" isn't plugging. Just because an Anime/Manga is a website doesn't mean you can't ever make a topic about it ever. Maybe his little "the forums are so awesome" bit was a little pluggy though, but I still don't think the topic was a plug. |

| Used to be cool. Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Mother Russia Posts: 313 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | ********* is awesome, one of the few web comics I ever enjoyed, but, unfortunately, loads of anime nerds have to go and classify it as "omg g8 anemrican manga'ka doujin!!!11/" Just enjoy the comic as a comic, not some J-Pop bastard cultural offshoot. That is all. |

I also have no reason to go buy the MT books they print now. That's why there's the internet.
