| Guest | There are two versions, the OVA (simply called record of the lodoss war) and then the tv series, Chronicles of the heroic knight) I have record of the lodoss war, I've seen about half of it so far, i've kinda been doing other stuff. It's a good series if you love medieval fantasy. If you're not into that stuff, then you probably wouldn't care for it too much. |

A band of variegated heroes (a fighter, an elf, a dwarf, a cleric, a wizard and a thief--your bog-standard 'Dungeons and Dragons' posse) adventure in a war-torn land; when an ancient evil awakens and attempts to take over the world, the heroes are embroiled in the struggle against the forces of darkness. I thought it was dead good. |

| Guest | More like a Dungeons and Dragons anime. Actually, it was based on a P&P roleplaying game, which was probably in turn based on D&D. The OVA (just titled Record of Lodoss Wars) and the TV series (subtitled Chronicles of the Heroic Knight) are alternate universes that share some similarities, like the War of Heroes, which happened somewhat differently. You should probably start with the OVA. It's of higher animation quality and, IMO, script quality. The TV series seems strained at times, and there's a good chance that you'll dislike both the main characters in the TV series. |
