Gender: Posts: 4,693 Thanks: 1,279 Thanked 415 Times in 346 Posts | The Tales of Symphonia Anime How the HECK are they planning on summing it up in four episodes?!! I mean, of the two that are out, they are about a tenth of the way through the game. I mean, they don't even know about Tethe'alla yet!!! I mean, I really like it and everything (The game was one of the dern best I've ever played, and in the anime, everyone looks so much awesomer. Genis is so cute !), but there's no effing WAY that they can fit even HALF of the game on it. Why didn't they just make it a series? Everyone loves the game, anyway, and there's so many important sidequests that they could put in (Raine and Genis' mom, for one thing). Any thoughts? |

I mean, I knew they were making one, but I didn't know when it was being released or if it was even being released over here at all. How long are the episodes anyway? Perhaps they're not done making it yet and are just releasing it as they go. |

YouTube - ToS Episode 1 part1 the link to ep 1, part 1. And for those of you who might not know, Raine's japanese name is Refill. Last edited by CuccoLady; 08-27-2007 at 09:30 PM. |

I was actually disappointed we didn't get to see Dhaos transform into Disco Dhaos though. ![]() At least they captured the artstyle accurately...and made Colette sound less annoying. |

Allow me to explain how this works. In Japan, when a company or studio wants to make an anime, they first do a small 'dry run'. This is very similar to the North American tradition of pilots for shows (I'm sure you all know what pilots are). HOWEVER. Instead of doing one episode and showing it to broadcasters, they do a series or miniseries, and sell it on tape/DVD. These are what is known as OAV's. If that does well enough, THEN they do a TV series. This is the explanation behind Bannou Bunkou Nekomusume Nuku Nuku and Nuku Nuku TV, the reason why there's both Tenchi Muyo (the OAVs) and Tenchi Universe (the broadcast TV series), and the background for a number of other similar things. In this case, I'm willing to bet that what you're seeing are the OAVs, and they still aren't totally sure they're going to make a broadcast series yet. |

Gender: Posts: 4,693 Thanks: 1,279 Thanked 415 Times in 346 Posts | ^^ Genis>Genius oh, and the next ep. comes out on October 24. I can't wait... oh, and to Selene: You're right, it IS an OAV. I hope they do make an actual series; the game is too awesome not to. When they do (because I know it'll happen), I am going to be SO FREAKING HAPPY. so, um... in other words.. Genius is a tacky name, next episode comes out soon, and they'd better make it into a series because the whole world would love it. OK, I'm done ranting. *zips mouth* |

| Gunjinkeeper | Genius is a pretty cool name, since it was used in Radiata Stories. And my Radiata Stories bias is so enormous that ANY name used in Radiata Stories is badass to me. Anyway, I may give this a chance. I probably never will play the game all the way through, so this is a welcome shortcut. |

But as it stands, I'm not really to interested in searching for segments of it on Youtube. |

I didn't know this till I started a new one and completed the entire game without sidequests(the first time) in 42 hours. And sheena better look hot in the anime or I'm gonna have something to say. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
