The lineup includes an impressive array of half-baked ideas and overused jokes, all of which have become so monotonously boring and occasionally painful for me to watch. Shows like Drake and Josh, Spongebob Squarepants, and Fairly Oddparents are rarely funny and annoyingly repetetive, and shows like Naked Brothers Band and any of the CG cartoons are all just horrible. This isn't to say I hate all Nicktoons, they've all got their jewels in the rocks, and some are actually fairly decent. It's only that been a good, long time since Nick has had a lineup I've been able to enjoy. (Eh, maybe it's because I'm getting older rather than the quality decreasing. I wouldn't doubt that.) But, one of the recent cartoons I've found myself quite able to enjoy was El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera. The cartoon was interesting, had fun characters, and above all it made me laugh (in a good way, for once). Granted, it's not perfect, but I enjoyed it a lot. And now, it's been cancelled, much to my displeasure. To cut to the point of the topic and skip through my irrelevant banter, haha, Nickelodeon will be presenting one final episode on the 25th. The viewers have until then to decide Manny's fate: shall he choose to be good in the end like his father, or choose to fall to temptation like his grandfather? Vote if you want, and tune in to the show on Friday. Click here to vote. I thought the Evil ending would have been a more dramatic way to end El Tigre, but at the same time it just seemed stupid. I picked Good. |
