Why don't they make cartoons based on modern day people anymore?

Why don't they ever make cartoons based on modern day people anymore? (for example Chuck Norris and Muhammad Ali). I think it would be funny to have a cartoon based on Barry Bonds, Andy Dick, and even Donald Trump.

They may suck right now, but back when they originally aired I'm sure they were immensely popular. If I were to make a Hannah Montanna CARTOON I'm sure it would be very popular then years later people will look back on it and call it stupid and sucky.
