Who was/is the best Batman?

I'm leaving out some of the less memorable actors and most of the older ones since none of us are quite from that era, but take your pick. Which Batman/Batmans were the most memorable? Who did the Dark Knight the most honor?

The only actor to ever manage to convey Bruce Wayne the way he has been intended to be conveyed is Conroy, hands down. Michael Keaton was a retarded assbackwards choice only memorable because it so far outshadowed Val Kilmer (it's hard to choose a more virile word than retarded). I actually wonder if Clooney could have done the job with a better script - watching Michael Clayton. Christian Bale has the physique and some of the character but even he falls short (if forgiveably so, although I think Batman Begins would have been better as Batman Year One). The Batman is stupid. Actually, the best choice here is Adam West - if only because he so accurately represented what he represented, 70s camp.

EDIT - as a side note, Sisto does it as well.
