Yaoi's existed forever. Death Note's not even close to the worst. If you want terrible, check out Harry Potter. Other good ones are Zelda (LinkxDarklink's the worst) and Final Fantasy. I could link you to some stories, but they would break your mind.

Everything on Fanfiction.net is A. completely irrelevant to the story it was based off of amd B. Written by Yaoi fans.

Yeah, Yaoi fandom pisses me off at times. I don't have a problem with yaoi if the characters are already gay and attracted to each other, but I have a habit of denting my desk and getting a headache when I came across Batman/Joker, Lupin/Zenigata, Mario/Wario...

It seems like an insult to the original author's intentions.
