The manga is the better of the two, and an anime adaptation that follows it would be nice. The FMA movie proves, once again, that Nazis are ultimately behind everything. |

Then I learned they had made the FMA movie. I watched it in subtitles but the subtitles were so screwed up and fast that I had to constantly pause the movie (I should have just went with the dub on this one X.X). And plot wise it was very disappointing as well. For instance: Mustang was retarded for about 3/4 of the movie instead of badass, many killed characters 'returned' which was disappointing because the series was good because when people died they actually died. The huge lack of alchemy was of course disappointing; I was not phased by Al's ability to control robots that just waddled like penguins for 5 minutes before really doing anything. Anyway despite my random complaints above I did enjoy episodes 40 - 45 or so of the first series very very much. --- I'm definitely looking forward to this new series as well. I heard rumor about it probably in mid February or so and have been anxious since. The only thing I'm concerned about is how characters will be depicted in the new series. Am I still going to expect Ed to be short tempered, are some homunculus going to be more insane/sane then previously? And most importantly, will Kimbley be just as or more badass than he was in the first series? ![]() |

I thought Mustang was okay, and, the dead characters didn't "return", those were just alternate/parallel universe versions of themselves. However, I did find just about everything else to be random and/or ridiculous. The Atomic Bomb nonsense, Nazis, psychic fortune-telling gypsies and such... | |

Nooo, why did the Ice Alchemist already die? His arsenal of transmutations just about pwned everyone else’s from the previous series!Definitely an awesome episode. Glad to see a lot of the former actors still voice the same characters and that the artwork is consistent. My favorite scene in the episode was the depiction of the Ice Alchemist versus Bradley in the dark alleyway. I really like how they used the 'Sin City' approach for that scene. Unfortunately the fight was short lived, but I guess what happens when you haphazardly fight Bradley. ![]() Last edited by Blake; 04-08-2009 at 02:09 AM. |
