Dragon Ball Kai

Dragon Ball - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I've been aware of Dragon Ball Kai for a while now. I don't know if I approve fo the idea completely, since I read that they cut 191 Episodes out. While the rest sounds great, such as making it HD, I also am weary of the re-recorded voices. I have some favorite parts that I think were done perfectly and wouldn't like to be changed.

I believe they should make a final version such as this for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT though, since they've already done this for DBZ now (it would only make sense to do it for the whole series).

What do you guys think about Dragon Ball Kai?

Seems interesting, if it's released in English then I might check it out, but I agree, there were some parts that were done pretty much perfectly.

For example, Fusion Reborn was a great movie, acted perfetly, especially Goku's SSj3 transformation scream. It went on for like a good minute! It was crazy, I loved it. I watched it in Japanese and it just didn't sound good at all (many little squeaky screams vs one lud badass one).

ew, ew, ew. No, No, No.

GT was terrible, and it was an attempt to cash in on the fame.

Still, This is a nice attempt to bring Dragon Ball to more people. Especally now that the full Manga is out, they don't need to draw the series out with movies (not that there was anything wrong with them)

I want to watch it if it comes to America. It sounds like it will be a more direct version of the manga.

On the note of the japanese voices, I find them funny to listen to (especially Frieza's laugh rofl), but maybe you need to be native to Japan to understand why the voices sound the way they do. Maybe they think the way we sound is weird and unfitting. Or maybe the voices are that way specifically to be funny. What do I know?

And I'd also like to see something like this for Dragon Ball, like I REALLY HATE POKEMON! (is there a shorter name to call you by?) said. But not GT. Never GT. EVER.

They're doing this with Z to milk the cow. I mean, Z basically overshadows DB and GT in popularity, no? To state the obvious: filler and I guess non-manga stuff is being cut, voices redone, and drawings HDed but not redone or something. The opening is new and pretty, though. Also catchy:

Cutting the filler would make the series actually worth watching to new fans, but I'd rather there was an unedited version of Dragon Ball.

I'd like to mention that I think most people think filler, movies, and GT aren't canon because they weren't in the manga. But, more than once, I've noticed contradicting things. Like, what's Pilaf doing there? Shouldn't he have been killed off when Buu, you know, blew up the Earth?

I suppose it's not really a big deal. If you like it, fine. If you don't, also fine. All of it's fiction anyway. For all you care, the Super Saiyan levels can rise to 10 or something else really weird. It doesn't matter.

Everybody was wished back to life after Kid Buu destroyed the planet, so Pilaf was alive and well. The only inconsistencies I heard of were ones pertaining to the Black Star Dragon Balls, which Wyborn brought to my attention. Though I forgot what it was he was talking about...

Dragon Ball AF. I think I seen an ad for it somewhere but ignored it. Now, I shall Google it, because female Super Saiyans sounds neat.
