While his animation isn't flawless, the style is ****ing brilliant. That Peter Chung did this while doing the Rugrats is sensational. Of course, then there's all these kids that are used to their digimons and **** that are all "why do these people have bones in their faces i dont understand" and I lose a little bit more of my tooth enamel from intense grinding every time I read/hear it. The live action movie was so dumbed down, it barely passes as Aeon Flux, even though it can be entertaining as kind of a sci-fi thriller (bonus points: Johnny Lee Miller aka haxor of gibsonz as the lead villain). Needs more gratuitous sexual tension + bondage + alien thin people with legs for arms + violent terrorism. If they'd just done 4 different shorts with Aeon or Trevor alternately dying in graphic ways, ala Sin City, it would've been the bomb. (protip: they're ****ing clones okay) The film gets additional points for adapting the scavandra (sp?) short, with the border infiltration, anyway. The hands for feet thing was left in, although its relevance is missing, but it was nicely done. Last edited by Cosmonautical; 12-08-2010 at 06:07 AM. |
