I can't believe that I've not read this book yet! Great satire about the Russian Revolution (Go Pig Commies!) for those who don't know what it is. Only problem is that the book is pretty short...

I've got it but haven't read it yet. Been too busy reading other stuff (right now I'm working on Lord of the Rings). A short book would probably be good right now though, as it could be a while before I finish LotR.

Cool

Eh, I didn't like it so much. I mean, I got the symbolism and everything, but I had to roll my eyes at the "OMG COMMUNISM SI TEH BAAD!!!1" theme.

I mean, give me Hugo or Voltaire or Shakespeare.

I liked it. I would've liked it more if my 9th grade English teacher hadn't given such half-baked assignments about it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Great book. Intensified my thoughts on animals' negative views on humans if they had some hidden intelligence though...But great book.

Orwell is a genius. It was a magnificent sattire of communisme("We have irrefutable evidence, DOCUMENTS, that proove Snowball was in fact, SIDING with the humans!!!") and had a deep if somewhat... comical moral...

In the end... there is no difference between pigs and humans. Hehehe.

OMG! ERDAWN HAS POSTED OUTSIDE THE BATTLEFIELD!

Very good book that I've read about 4 times... mostly to discuss things with friends in highschool due to it being in the curriculum!

Good book. 1984 is so much better, though. Way more surprising, way more interesting, and the conversations in the last third of the book are fascinating.

-A Genius (Oceania is rather unbelievable at first, but it all comes into place at the end.)

What's great is that even though it was a direct satire of communist Russia, it can be applied to almost any totalitarian system.

AARGH! I still need to read 1984!

A great book. One of the best allegories to a current government ever, that's for sure...

I still need to read 1984 too. When I went to get this book, the store had none of them left.

First read this in 6th grade. Brilliant book. Not much else to say.

Good ideas often go down with the influx of power they usher in.

Orwell rocks. Animal Farm is a painfully obvious allegory, but it's still a very good book.

And yeah, 1984 is also very good.

Awesome book, and like most fine pieces of literature I've read in school/college, I'd probably like them more if we weren't constantly tested and given essays or other assignment crap to go along with it. Having to stop every few chapters is lame.
