I am hearing rumors that a fan killed themself because their favorite person in the book dies, and he left this letter saying: "I have no reason to live". |

I don't have the book yet, but I'll get it as soon as possible. I would borrow it from my friend, but he's got to read it first and I'm bored/impatient. |

I mean, it's a bizarre niche series intended generally for children, and it gets all this attention. Hope you guys enjoy yourselves, though. ![]() |

Anyways, SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Did we ever find out what happened with Dumbledore's hand? I think I might have missed something. . . . . . . . . . . . [ July 18, 2005, 03:41 PM: Message edited by: Tablecloth Girl ] |

| Banned Join Date: Dec 1969 Posts: 0 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Can someone edit the title of this to warn for spoilers? It should be understood of course, but still... If my memory serves me, Dumbledore screwed his hand up destroying Voldemort's soul-piece that was in the ring, not the ring itself. That is to say, making the ring ordinary again, de-Horcruxing it. Agreed, Wy - Harry is incredibly sage and funny in this book. OotP seemed to be a sort of messy metamorphosis phase, which he has come out of a much cooler person. I especially admire the hell out of his decision at the end of the book, during his conversation with Ginny. And HBP has decidedly moved into the realm of not for children. Suitable for adolescents, I suppose, but aimed at adults as much as anyone. |

| Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2001 Location: Hatsurah Gender: Posts: 4,620 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Warning: This is for thoes that have read the whole book Throughout most of the book I thought that the HBP was Voldemort, only to find out that it was Snape...wow... Also, wasn't Malfoy supposed to kill Dumbledore? then again, since Snape made the Unbreakable Vow, he had to help Malfoy kill him, even if he had to do it himself... I think that Bill was lucky that it wasn't a full moon. If it was, Greyback would have turned him completly into a werewolf, and Fleur would have still married him. The only side effect of the attack by Greyback was that Bill prefers to eat his meat extra raw... And what is this between Tonks and Lupin? Will there be another wedding for JKR to write about??? Bill will be married to Fleur within the first five chapters of book seven, I say. But I think that we won't get to see Lupin and Tonks' wedding though, if there is even going to be one... |

Well, at least he didn't spend too much time here. (Pray Bill turns on him or he gets hit with Avada Kedavara sometime in the future) Although I was expecting Dumbledore to die sometime in the series, I was surprisingly shocked when he was killed by Snape. I was expecting Malfroy or Voldemort to do the dirty work, and that someone like Snape would die in this book. (I was actually thinking Malfroy would die at one point because of the Unbreakable Vow) |
