The Destruction of the Mushroom Kingdom

Chapter 1

“That dang alarm clock!”

Mario got up from bed exhausted. The Piranha Plants were blocking water in the castle’s pipes again and Mario had to stay up all night exterminating them. Hastily he made his way to the kitchen where he made himself a cup of coffee. On the table there was a note from Luigi:

I’m at the castle working with Dr. Efer. Come to the castle around 11:00 so we can finish exterminating the Piranha Plants.

Mario grunted.

“Great. More Piranha Plants.”

At 11:00 Mario started his way to the castle. As he was walking along he noticed that the grass and the trees had an unhealthy brown to it.

“That’s odd,” thought Mario, “I didn’t know trees did that this time of year.”

When he got to the castle two Mushroom Guards were standing there blocking the doorway. When Mario asked them to move they wouldn’t let him.

“Why won’t you let me through?” asked Mario

“The Great Leader forbids it.” Said one of the guards in a dull monotone

“You mean the King?”

The guard looked at Mario in the eye.

“Our King.”

Mario walked away slowly thinking of a way to get in.

I grasp the concept, but that's about it. Details are the only thing that needs to improve, for now.

Chapter 2

As Mario walked away from the castle was thinking of all the warp pipes that lead to the castle. All of them that he thought of were always surrounded by Mushroom Guards, so there was no way he could get in through one of those. Then he remembered the one warp pipe that led to the guest room that was closed down because of flooding.

“Plus,” said Mario “that warp pipe is on the edge of the forest. It would take me until tomorrow to get there.”

Mario turned east and started walking through the forest. The forest was a dark and gloomy place where creatures like Boos and Shyguys like to sneak up on people and steal their items. Usually you can hear them making noise, but for some odd reasonthey were making no noise. Mario took no notice of this, but he did notice that the trees of the forest were also getting that sickly brown color.

Around midnight the forest was darker than ever. Mario could barely see an inch in front of his face. Suddenly the ground below him seemed to have slipped away and Mario fell into a giant pit. When he hit the ground he hit his head hard and was knocked out. Two strange humming creatures went into the hole after Mario. They picked him up and then they flew away into the night sky.

You could make you details longer, and you chapters longer.
Edit: But it's still interesting, and well spelt.

o_o You really should have longer chapters. However, your spelling and grammer are exellent. I didn't notice any goofs [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Chapter 3 will be longer so it might take a while to write it.

Yeah, only complaint I have is that the chapters are too short.

Chapter 3

“Uhhhhh…..where am I?”

Mario woke up in a bed in an elegant bedroom full of paintings and sculptures. On the ceiling there was a dome made from fine glass letting light into the room. When Mario saw the Warp Pipe with the “Do Not Enter” sign on it he realized that he was in the castle’s guest bedroom.

Mario got up from the bed and found that someone took his clothes off and had washed them. He put them on and went downstairs.

Mario went to the dining room and found the King and Peach eating breakfast. Peach looked up at Mario and spoke to him.

“It is about time you woke up, you were sleeping in that bed for 3 days. Sit down now and have some breakfast.”

Mario sat down. A mushroom servant put in front of him a steaming bowl. Mario looked down to see what it was. It was oatmeal. Normally Mario didn’t like oatmeal, but he was starving and he ate it up. When he finished he was about to get up when Peach told him to sit back down.

“So how did you get in?” asked Peach

“I don’t know,” said Mario, “I just remember the ground slipping away in the forest and waking up in the bedroom.”

“That’s odd. Let me guess, you were going through the forest to get to the secret warp pipe because our guards wouldn’t let you in.”

“Yes that is exactly what happened. They said something about their Great Leader not permitted them to let me in.”

“The Mushroom Guards have been doing that lately. They have disobeyed our orders and said that they were not under our command anymore. They have been so disobedient that we were forced to behead some of them.”

Peach told Mario that he was dismissed and he got up and left. As Mario was walking up to his room he ran into Luigi. Luigi had the same dull emotionless look on his face that the Mushroom Guards had. Luigi grabbed Mario’s hands and quickly tied them up. Luigi picked up Mario and carried him. Luigi paid no attention that Mario was kicking him in the face. Mario had one thought going through his mind:

“Where are you taking me?”

Chapter 4

“Uhhhh…what is that humming noise?”

Mario woke up strapped to a table with duct tape. Jars full of liquids, huge machines, and operating tools were all over the room he was in. He knew exactly where he was, he was in Dr.Efer’s laboratory.

He saw Luigi in front of the door holding a spear. He still had the same gaze on his face that he had before. He noticed a small star shaped mark on Luigi’s forehead.

He was wondering where Luigi got that mark when Dr.Efer burst into the room. Mario and Dr.Efer had been friends for quite sometime now. He cured Mario from the Delfino Flu just a few months ago and Mario felt that he was in his debt.

“Ah Mario how nice of you to come.” said Dr.Efer in a oily voice

“Why am I strapped to this board?” said Mario, “And why has all the Mushroom Guards and Luigi acting like zombies? Are you behind this?”

Dr.Efer smiled crookedly.

“Now Mario my dear friend don’t get so angry!” said the doctor, “If you calm down I will be more than happy to tell you what is going on.”

Mario laid his head back and took a few deep breaths. He knew he couldn’t break free of the amount of duct tape that strapped to him, he was too small. So he just sat back and waited what the doctor had to say.

“Well since you are calmed down now I will tell you what is going on.” said the doctor, “You see thousands of years ago the continent on the upper part of the globe was at war. The war was between the Koopa and the Mushroom People. The war dragged on for almost half a century. Then the Mushroom People made a huge advance on the Koopa’s capital city. They destroyed everything in the city and hardly let anything live. The Koopa surrendered that day and the war was over. Got that so far?”
Mario nodded his head.

“Now the remaining Koopa that were alive fled to the eastern desert of the continent. They wanted revenge badly, but they didn’t know how. One day a Magikoopa name Gurnto passed by the Koopa settlement in the desert. In exchange for money Gurnto agreed to help them. Gurnto took a bunch of cicadas and transformed into 7 foot humanoids with 10 inch claws. They called them jiggertenuoso, translates to “Cicada Beast from Hell”.

The Koopa set loose the jiggertenuoso upon the villages of the Mushroom People. In a few short years the jiggertenuoso destroyed all of their settlements and slaughtered countless people. The Mushroom People decided it was best to leave the continent in search of somewhere else. The Koopa celebrated their victory, but it was short. Since the jiggertenuoso were pretty much large cicadas they needed to suck on the juices of plants to survive. All over the continent all the plants were dieing. Although the Koopa were meat eaters they were affected by this because the animals they ate were plant eaters and were dieing off.

The Koopa made a decision to kill all the jiggertenuoso on the continent. It took many years to kill off them, but they finally did. By the time they killed them off however, all the animals the Koopa fed on were dead. So they decided to leave the continent in search of another continent to live on. As you know that continent is here where Mushroom People came several years before them.”

Mario was confused.

“If they were all slaughtered off how come the plants are all turning brown? Plus that still doesn’t explain why you strapped to this board and why everyone is acting like a zombie.”

Dr.Efer laughed.

“Patience Mario, Patience. Now before the jiggertenuoso were all killed off a lot of them laded their eggs in the ground. Eggs that could only be activated by juices from goat liver. And this is where I come into the story. A few months ago me and some of my colleagues went to that abandon continent. I was carrying some goat liver in jar in my backpack. I clumsily tripped over a rock and the goat liver flew out of my backpack. The glass broke and the liver landed on a pointy rock that was jutting out of the ground. The contents spilled out and the creatures bursted out of the ground.

With their enormous claws they sliced the necks of my colleagues and killed them. They however could tell that I was a great man of science and let me live, for a price. They told me to hypnotize all the people in the world so they can take it over with ease.”

Mario was stunned. He couldn’t believe that his friend was working for the cause of evil.

“Now in order to get everyone in the world hypnotized,” continued Dr.Efer, “I had to hypnotize everyone that was in the castle first so I can put my Hypno Beam on the roof without suspicion .”

He pointed to the large machine at the other side of the room.

“So you strapped me down to this table so you can hypnotize me?”

Dr.Efer shook his head no.

“I strapped you to the table because I think you can be use for me without being hypnotized. I need you strapped down so you won’t go blabbing to the king of what I am going to do”

Dr.Efer picked up a needle and injected it’s contents into Mario. Mario suddenly felt very sleepy.

“By the time you wake up, all of the Mushroom Kingdom will be hypnotized. Now if you excuse me I have an appointment with the Royal Family.”

The last chapter was good, and I found only several mistakes, but try to combine sentences so they flow better. Too many periods occasionally make it choppy to read.
