Top Ten 3: Top Ten Villains That Don't Attack You pt. 1
Oh, wow. I've already done this longer than everything on my blog.
Oh, well we all love Villains. In fact we love to argue about who is the best villain. Well, maybe I should do a Top Ten about them.
....Only problem is that the list would consist of, Sephiroth, Bowser, Ganon, or SephirothBowserGanonndorf
So, I'm going to make it so no common villain can never show up.
The stipulation is that the villain does not harm the player directly.
They don't have to be the main villains, but they do have to oppose you.
To make it a little easier, indirectly attacking is great as well. So, let's start this.
10. Maester Mika- Final Fantasy X

pffffffffffft.
Yeah, I'll start it off with Ass #20 in FFX. Ass #1 being Fish Dude, and moving up the list from there.
Mika is the leader of the Religious sect "Yevon". At first, he seems like a nice guy. Introduces Seymour and doesn't afraid of anything. Only problem is... he's more corrupt than William Jefferson. He not only doesn't follow his Religion, HE PURPOSLY GOES AGAINST IT.
First, Yevon uses the Machina they are forbidden to use. Second, Mika is a Ghost, which means he is basically Fiend Bait. Thirdly, he acknowledges that Sin can never be destroyed by the current means, and in fact keeps the cycle going. And Finally, he basically sent a bunch of summoners to thier death.
It doesn't help that he runs like a sissy when Tidus and the gang ruin the only way to temporarily stop Sin. You do get to see him become a Fiend in X-2, but other than that, the closest you get to him is the piss trail he leaves behind when he leaves for the last time.
9. Bob the Goldfish- Earthworm Jim series
Above: Worst Boss Fight with Bob tru fax
Basically, Bob the Goldfish is not so much a Boss Fight as he is a bunch of Hype. You basically get to the end of a fight and see the boss of the level is a goldfish. "FIGHT" appears on the screen...aaaaaaand you just tip the bowl over.
Earthworm Jim was basically a comedic platformer full of some interesting stages and boss ideas. Down the Tubes was no exception as you had to avoid large cats that kicked your ass if you weren't careful. Also, you rode Hamsters, and flew in a brittle pod with limited air.
When you got to Bob, you were obviously in no shape to want a Boss fight. But, then the Goldfish showed up and you wondered where the boss is. Well....it's the fish.
It was most certainly the shocker that left everyone flabbergasted. I mean you went throughthe entire level to beat up a fish. But the level after was just a boss fight, so I guess it made up for the lack of a boss. Maybe.
8. Blue/Gary- Pokemon Series
Pokemon games have always had Rivals that picked the Pokemon that your starting Pokemon was weak against. From Barry, to May/Brendan, to Silver, Rivals were there to give you the greatest challenge before the end of the game.
It all started with Blue. Blue started as Oak's punk kid that didn't take losing too well. You would fight him a couple of times, but he was pretty much nothing more than the average trainer.
Then you got to the Elite Four and found your Rival became the strongest trainer in the world while you were fighting Giovanni and Team Rocket.
Naturally, when you get to him, he rubs it in your face before you fight. All of the Pokemon he pulls out have high levels but if you prepared well enough you would claim victory, leaving him to wonder why he is such a failure.
Out of all the rivals you face in any of the Pokemon games, Blue was the most annoying and the highest ranked out of all of them. Blue would be the only true Rival that you face at the end of the game which made him a much more interesting character.
Although, Blue does get to run the Viridian City Gym afterwards, so no loss no gain I guess.
7. Zexion- Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories
Above: Not Canon.
Zexion was probably one of the most interesting Kingdom Hearts Characters, regardless of the fact that he was fighting a mutiny while staging a mutiny. He appeared in Riku's story, where he tried to get a Keyblade Master to fight for the Members of Castle Oblivion. He does this by sending Riku into utter confusion causing him to be cloned, fight an Ansem Clone, and Fight the rest of Castle Oblivion. Eventually, Riku breaks through and joins with DiZ while Zexion gets his ass kicked by a Riku Clone.
You have to admit that if a game company keeps your weapon a secret for a long time, you can bet that it would make your character investigated more and more. Eventually, we learn Zexion owns a Book, but earlier you can get fans probably exhausted everything.
Zexion himself? He was a pretty sneaky bastard who had nothing better to do than revolt against the rest of Organization XIII.
Also, he traps you in books. Jerk.
6. Giygas- Earthbound/Mother 2

Giygas was the bad guy of Mother 1 and 2. In Mother 1 you had to sing to him the Eight Melodies to piss him off and make him leave. In Mother 2....that was gonna be a little tougher.
I'm not gonna spoil too much of the story, but basically Giygas turns into a formless being and starts slamming you with waves of Psychic energy. It didn't help that he was basically unstoppable, making him the most powerful boss when compared to the heroes since Chrono Trigger.
He could only be stopped by breaking the forth wall, and the player kills the beast. I don't have to tell you that Giygas is probably incapable of attacking directly....I mean can he Can you? We have no idea.
