DLN-010 (speculation) Oil Man is one of the two new Robot Masters from Mega Man Powered Up, which is the remake of the original Mega Man. Oil Man enjoys oil and believes it's the answer to everything. He resides in an oil field with Hotheads, which can burn the oil around the stage. This is similar to Flame Man's stage from Mega Man 6, although the flames in this game to not instantly kill the player. As a playable character, Oil Man uses the Oil Slider in the same way that Mega Man does - this means that his methods of attacking are limited (as the Oil Slider is only really useful for being Elec Man's weakness or for jumping over large gaps). He can shoot blobs and simply use them as 'landmines' or as attacks, but this is largely undesireable due to the fact it only does half the damage of the already weak Mega Buster and that the rate of firing is extremely low - you can only have one oil blob on the screen at a time and there is no way to cancel out one blob by shooting another (this means that if you miss you either have to wait for it to go or scroll the blob off the screen, both of which are time consuming). The only way that Oil Man can cause large damage is running into enemies using the Oil Slider, but this could result damage to himself. Once on the Slider, Oil Man cannot stop until he brakes by pressing up + jump. Otherwise, Oil Man will keep sliding until he hits a wall (borders of the stage that don't have walls will cause him to continouously ride the Oil Slider, and he will be unable to get off of it unless he jump-brakes). On a positive note, Oil Man does not slip on the oil blocks in his stage, and his Oil Slider is propels him faster. In addition, his jump-brake technique launches him higher, making it almost like a double-jump. Appearances Mega Man Powered UP Theme Fun Facts -Oil Man has controversy surrounding him because he is black with big peach colored lips, which was a stereotype of black people in cartoons during the 1920s and the 1930s. His colors were changed to dark blue with yellow lips outside Japan due to this. -Oil Man shares his name with an unofficial robot master from Mega Man 3 PC. | ||
