Robot Master of the Week #40: Grenade Man

"I'll be nice on you!"

DWN-063

Grenade Man (グレネードマン, Gurenēdoman?) is smaller than most Robot Masters, but he is very aggressive, and fights like there's no tomorrow. He also weirdly enough, is sadomasochistic, enjoying both inflicting and recieving pain, especially through explosions. He fights primarily using explosive weaponry, and an Overdrive system was installed in him, allowing him to temporarily boost his power. He was created by Doctor Albert Wily, and was stationed somewhere in Chile, causing havoc with his soldiers and explosive weaponry. Interestingly, like his namesake, he is visually designed after a Hand Grenade, having a similar textured stomach area, and a headpiece reminiscent of a grenade pin.

Appearances
Mega Man 8
Mega Man & Bass (as a data CD)

Fun Facts
-As stated in his Mega Man & Bass data, Grenade Man likes to get caught in explosions, making him a masochist.
-Coincidentally, Grenade Man's line, "Say hello to my cute little bombs!" is similar to "Say hello to my lil' friend!", a line used in the movie, Scarface.
-There is an enemy called the Walking Bomb in Mega Man 3 located in Shadow Man's stage that bears a striking resemblance to Grenade Man, as both are based on grenades. They run across the screen to run into you and explode on contact.
-Frost Man, Grenade Man, Astro Man, and Clown Man are the only Robot Masters in Mega Man 8 that don't have a MegaMan Battle Network series counterpart.

I'd prefer a Mortar Man if we're talking about WWI weapons.
