If you use certain sprites I.e. GBA sprites, you can only save as BMP. Certain sprites= Certain Formats.

Where is the idiot running to? Why to Nintendo Mania of course. Just follow him for the time of your life.

If possible, save as a *.png over a *.bmp. It's smaller and doesn't interfere with the color scheme.

I'll answer that. What you do is select "Save as", then look below where you put in your file name. It should say something about "bitmap". It's a scroll-down menu, so click on it and select "GIF" (Graphics Interchange Format). If that doesn't work, it could be something with your computer.

If you can only save them as BMPs, how come my computer lets me save them in any format I want? That's in Paint Shop Pro, but I haven't been getting any distortion when I try to save them as PNGs or GIFs. (In paint shop pro 7 that is)

And if your computer doesn't let you save GBA sprites as a format other than BMPs, DO NOT USE GBA SPRITES UNLESS YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT TECHNOLOGY!! Ever wonder why L007's Chao Adventure comics took the entire mesozoic Era to load? He saved those things as bmps before I told him to change them, AND LOOK AT HOW BIG THE CHAO ADVENTURES COMICS ARE!!! (I think bmps only work when the file-size is REALLY small, because I accidentially saved my Rictor's Mugshot avatar I had in like January as a bmp and it loaded as fast as it would with a PNG.)

In other words, AVOID BMPS AT ALL COSTS!! Their filesize is bigger than Psyguy's Ego (Yes I know nothing can really be anywhere NEAR that big. It's a joke simile like the "You're as stuck up as Veronica lodge" thing I said earlier), and even if it's no bigger than Chao Adventures, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!! It still took forever for Chao Adventures to load, and making it bigger is just making it worse.

Plus, I'm gonna make a special about what NOT to do with a comic, more or less an updated version of my ancient-experiment to make the worst comic better (The experiment can be found here.), and in the follow-up, I left out a few things (A bunch of which were mentioned in this topic, so you WILL recieve credit).

**Stares at Doug with a pissed off look** WHY MUST YOU KEEP USING MY COMICS AS EXAMPLES? I just now got what is needed! Thing for .png, and for .gif. ARGGH.

Anyways...

I'm for that new "Crappy comic" thing.

^You're the only one who saved them as bmps, and look at that how big they are. I've seen other bmps on the web, but they were bigger than Chao Adventures and took even LONGER to load.

Quit stealing my lines.

As for the Worst Comic Ever Douglas posted... that was actually a helluva funnier than anything Mr. Woofums made.

^Apart from the Precambian Era, that was the only time period I could think of that would fit how long it took for Chao Adventures to load.

And CK, do you still use the Meowkie sprites or do you use those lomax-looking sprite as yourself? I'm adding you in the special because I really owe you (Animation shop 3, transparancies, etc).

What are you talking about? That lemming knight is Lomax. I'm not Lomax. Lomax is his own self. I'm the blue Meowkie.

In Joe Hatter's sprite thread, you posted the Lomax sprites, which sorta created confusion because in Adventures of Lemmy, you use that sprite as Lomax.

Okay, I'm back from Michigan, so now I'll get to work on that "What not to do when making a comic" special.

Okay, here it is:

http://img26.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img26&image=Image50.gif

Sorry for the file-size and if some of the text may be hard to read. (My monitor may be on a darker setting)

Credit to everyone here who helped on this special, and credit to LVK for the spray-paint tool example, and credit to Sean Kelly for Luigi007's sprites.

And it's your own fault for not liking Invader Zim that Daniel went crazy on you Luigi007.

And about my previous screws, Brent was on the team but he's on Hiatus for acting noobirific about STC's fanscrew contest, and Daklon, Brent's replacement, is recuperating in the hospital because Uziel's hair attacked him in the last screw.

Thumbs up

Bah. Bah, I say to you!

At least I got a good part. AND I SPOKE THE TRUT- **Is stabbed by Daniel again** x_x

Oh, and Doug, JPEG Optimizer is Freeware, and had a 30 Day trial. Pixia is about the same, except it's completly free and forever free. So jpeg there also has a quality bar so it can look good, but prevents stealing sprites, still.

If I weren't so damn lazy, I'd go find the clapping graemlin I found in the VGFCodes forum.

Aw, what the hell.

Tell me when there's another screw coming up!

aw man, I woulda preferred you use one of the flamejet examples.

* ahem * about the fighting in comics things, that's not entirely true. I could show you a few if I scrounged them up. PM me or IM me, and I'll show you some of my comics, which are quite centered around fighting. I'd show them here, but, uh, Jay would have my arse for it. And yes, it's a serious comic.

I was trying to keep the file-size down, and for some reason, it kept blacking out the white when I tried to do that (Even when it wasn't on Transparancy selection).

And about fighting, well, ending them in super-cheap ways is what's bad. Dragging on fighting so it's like DBZ or Yu Yu Hakusho (In which most of it's just explaining what the attacks do) is what's bad. Daniel meant to say that but he probably never got around to saying that.

Also, the reason I didn't mention that blood rule is because
a) Blood is funny and
b) it counts under "poorly done violence". Like if you use the spray-paint tool for it like Mr. Sickums did.
