...Um, how can he become a great comic maker if he does stuff like that? You need to lay down on the two-toned backgrounds, although it does show some potential.

That sounds nasty...

Hey Doug, I see you haven't rated my comic. Scared of rating a pretty good comic, eh?

What's wrong with two-tone backgrounds?
And don't screw me, please.

Two-toned backgrounds is the easy way out. Not only is it lazy, but it can look real sloppy at times.

Well, work is progressing on chapter 2, albeit slowly.
Don't worry, Digi. I'm doing backgrounds from actual games so it doesn't look sloppy and you won't have to screw me.

Yeah, well I hate it, thus I give it the evil rating of an Ice Pick.

It's funny but a little confusing as well.

Spray paint tool?

*Eyes glow red* KILL!

Besides inverting, that HAS to be the laziest sprite effect ever!

(And yes I am aware that Jay uses the spray paint tool, but you'll notice that he doesn't really use it much anymore and that when he did, he at least knew how to use it most of the time, and that his comics are like that on purpose)

The last few comics were pretty clever. I'd like to see more.

Well, I only have paint so I use what I have. I'm very sorry that it's not good enough for you.

Can you at least tell me what you think of the script?

And the laziest effect is actually Copy/Paste, but nobody cares about that one.

You have a good comic, with bad special effects. Good Job, though.

It isn't the laziest effect-It's only the most helpful because that's what you HAVE to do to make a comic. I'm talking about VISUAL effects. Blood, Water, Power Beams, and leaves have been misused by the spray paint tool, and Inverting only destroys people's eyes and has been misused to make alternate universe characters and backgrounds.

OK, so what should I do to create good effects for that kind of stuff? I don't use effects often, but this was an exception, because I was trying to do some spy parody thing.

Keep in mind, there are multiple ways to make good effects in paint. One way is efficiently wielding the spray tool. I made a little sheet of random effects I've attempted with paint over the months, using the spray tool:

Post that in the "So you want to make a comix" thread because THAT is how the spray-paint tool should be used.
