Should I start locking? |

Well anyway I like the sprites, a bit. But the sprites aren't the best I've seen. I feel like MM sprites are the most editable sprites in the world. |

Tell me wat to change, add, take out, etc. (Yes, I know MM7 sprites, but those are the easiest for me to edit. When i get better, i'll start making sprites from scratch) I have a drawn picture of the team. If you want me to scan it and post it tell me. |

The fire effects are extremely daft. The shading is poor and the streching effects are ugly. There is excess white space, wasting substantial amounts of space, both in coded data and pixels, while simultaneously making the sprite sheet look ugly and extremely unprofessional. The hair is odd, unrealistic, and poorly sprited. The recolors are overued and the same for every sprite. The sprites are hardly edited at all. The entire image suffers high loss of color information, due to being saved as a .GIF image. I'm sicks of those who are to lazy to spend 3 minutes, at most to download something that supports .PNG images. Other than that, the sprites are amazing... ...and I mean "Other than that" as "Other than everything ." |

And the suits are all the same cause they're a team. And most of my drawings are unrealistic because they are supposed to be cartoonish. I guess i should stick to just hand drawing my comics. |

You certainly have no comic making ability. And you apparently don't have the ability to tell whether or not your work is bad. And now I'm supposed to believe that, when you are going 0 for 4, you actually have a skill? While possible, highly unlikely. And XML42, stop ripping on .gifs. They have shorter download times and if you use a decent program like Photoshop you can get 256 colors, enough for sprites. |

| Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: The Centennial State Gender: Posts: 971 Thanks: 16 Thanked 25 Times in 21 Posts | It seems like everyone, especially Glyph, thinks that every sprite or comic has to be perfect. Well guess what, THEY DON"T. Everyone started out as a newb. And the noobs today will someday become great comic makers. But, if everyone discourages them they'll think thery're horrible and leave. Then less and less people will come to this board. Eventually, there will be so few people, that this board will probably shut down. So if people start out bad, it doesn't mean they won't be good in the future. So can everyone lower their expectations a bit, for this boards sake? Tell people what to fix in they're comics, and try to help them, dont just say "Oh, you suck, get out of here" Please, everyone do this, or our board is DOOMED. ![]() [ July 13, 2005, 09:19 PM: Message edited by: Tech kid ] |

I've seen quite a few members leave VGF because people tell them that their comics are horrible, and that they should quit making them. As you said, Tech Kid, it seems like lots of members in this forum say that newb comics are bad, but they don't say why. It can really bring a comic maker down. |

As for you, Jumi, we dont' get anything by having crappy n00b comics around. Next, bringing comics down without reason is and should be discouraged. But we have plenty of good reasons. | |||||||||

Gender: Posts: 576 Thanks: 4 Thanked 2 Times in 2 Posts | So, Glyph, you're saying that it's fun to bring newb comic makers down? And that you'd rather have somebody quit not only making comics, but VGF, instead of helping them along so they can get better? You know, I would have posted something like Tech Kid did, to get members like you to give reasons why some sprites and comics are bad, but I was afraid that you would come in and disagree with every word I said, and possibly start another arguement, like you have in the past. This is why I don't like you, Glyph. Even though you make good, funny comics, I still don't like you. I don't care if I'm one of the only members to think things like Tech Kid posted, I'm still standing by it. [ July 14, 2005, 02:55 AM: Message edited by: Jumi Jao ] |

Gender: Posts: 5,444 Thanks: 3 Thanked 10 Times in 10 Posts | I don't think Glyph quite thinks it's fun to bring newbie comic makers down. I'm sure he had fun infuriating me, and I'm far from being a newbie. If you haven't noticed, Glyph does help. The authors just choose to listen to the insult part and usually nothing else. Now, Jumi, it's okay, it's okay that you'd rather have a bustling hive of idiocy than a small, relatively close-knit community of significantly higher intelligence. Just remember that you're one of the few. You have two mods and most of the comics forum against your side. |

(builds sandbag wall around me and Jumi and ducks behind it) All noobs come join the PWHGBHIAMABN team! If you want to go someplace that encourages idiocy go to Gamefaqs. And Jumi, the only reason I disagree with every word someone says is because sometimes every word they say is wrong. |
