The first few panels did kinda look like a 12 year old with Photoshop, though. Crazy pen lines, crappy explosion, awkwardly placed plasma shot... I can tell you were going for the whole comic effect there, and I guess the font and box was a start, but then you just had random pen everywhere and that sucks.

Your characters and backgrounds and such had a lot of stray lines and such, but that was because they were sketches, and you can't really hold sketchiness against a sketch. Besides that, they were really quite professional and professionally colored sketches > uncolored sketches > custom sprites > ripped sprites.

The joke was funny, I guess. Not terribly funny, just the ol' contrast gag, but you set up everything and you used the characters' personalities and that was cool.

If there's no other entries this comic is the clear winner but that's just because the art and character expressions and such give the comic depth. If Ace did this in MM sprites on crappy pixelated backgrounds, I think all Jumi Jao would have needed to do was set up the 1up joke better and he'd be right up there with this comic. That board game joke just won't cut it without the style to back it up.

Oh, calm down, JJ. The quicker you bug people into speeding up this contest, the quicker you lose to Ace's comic. Or, as CATS would say, "YOU HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE MAKE YOUR TIME".

Oh, that never gets old.

Erm, it's too late to enter a comic. The voting topic has already been made, and the poll can't be edited. Also, the comic isn't very good. The words aren't capitalized, and the joke isn't that funny.
