Yoshiman's head getting stuck in the castle was amusing, but not THAT amusing. Please, if you want your comic to go anywhere, have it make sense and actually try to be funny, please? It's a nice start, though. |

And fake stabbing people isn't really going to stop them from doing things anyway. You have to fake shoot them! (No, no, just kidding!) |

Recolors aren't really good for comics at all. You should try edits or originals. Swapping palettes just cheapens your comic. Now, don't take it the wrong way, just take my advise. It might improve your comic. |

| Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Ymir Forest Posts: 302 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0 Times in 0 Posts | Hmmm... First off. If you want to make an original sprite, you would first have to draw it out on paper. Then, using your drawing as a guideline, you would have to recreate it on screen in paint or whatever it is you're using. I'd suggest doing your sprite in pieces first then putting them together like a puzzle. This is also a handy method if you're trying to do animations. (Check my thread: Hello Again! I'm Still Alive!; you'll notice the sprite sheets I have made have what appear to be spare parts as well as their finished work). To make a proper edit sprite, you must take a sprite rip and alter it enough (and convincing enough) to make it look different, but not so much that it strays from the sprite's style. For example: you could take that Sonic sprite and alter it so that it doesn't look like Sonic. Altering his appearance does wonders. You could reshape his entire head, give him a new outfit, and think up of an actual name that doesn't sound ridiculous. The more you alter, the more different it will become. So, you see, practice makes perfect! Don't beat yourself up for not knowing something, go out and learn it! If you keep at it, you will improve, eventually. |
