Obviously, you haven't played Kingdom hearts, Glyph.

Because that's what he's going for, I believe.

Well, sure.

Although Glyph does have a valid point. However, I can assure him that the characters from the Archie Comics version of Sonic the Hedgehog are nothing more than a secret boss battle in the game and hold no real significance to the story. The only character in these drawings that is truly my own, is the black shrouded one with the yin-yang face. His name is Yun Juu and I think I've mentioned him before...

Heh, I guess Glyph isn't a big fan of demi-humans.

That's all right. I'm pretty sure it would appeal to some though. To each his own.

You know, being an artist, I thought you'd figure a bit of constructive criticism wouldn't be a bad thing. And I have to doubt how much you know about the world of spriting, too. </font>
Criticism of execution, not style. And why are you taking shots at my knowledge of spriting? I maintained a hobby of programming my own pc games for years before I even knew about VGF, and that entailed spriting. Got some sand in your britches? I didn't even take issue with your comments. I just hate to see people whining that "it's too dark" or "Falco's feathers are supposed to be bluer". I see it as a successful adaptation. Perhaps they've seen shots of this game, and believe that, in context, they don't fit? That didn't seem apparent to me.

And Smithy, those are some very nice pics, as well. Exaggeration is key to crossing animals over to humanoid form, and I'm glad to see that while you took it as far as you could go, you didn't go too far with the length of the limbs, or anything else. Is it your intent to color those?

"They're awesome, forget these people" sounds like issue. It sounds like issue a lot.

Anyway, you say you hate when people say things are too dark. I hate when people put things that obviously don't belong together.

You take everything literally?

Don't be so completely anal.

A.) If I took everything literally I wouldn't play with the word 'issue'
and
B.) don't be so stupid.

A.I... "They're awesome, forget these people" IS an issue... and sarcasm doesn't travel well over the internet. In fact, taking "They're awesome, forget these people" as anything BUT literal is kinda hard to do.

And we were talking about how 1.) Barely any of the sprites are in the same stlye and clash and 2.) Flawed execution of the "Killer7" style he claimed he was trying to get.

"They're awesome, forget these people"... I really expected better of you. That's advice an artist should NEVER give, unless there's just guys saying "You suck! You panty waste!"

Uh, LvK. Hypocritical much? AI's comment isn't half as insulting as your usual calvalcade of putdowns.

Someone does need to take AI down a peg, but hypocrisy isn't the way to do it. Hell, "forget these people" is hardly an insult at all.

I hardly care for your politic, and I don't understand how you suppose you're permitted to be disappointed in me. Was exaggeration, not sarcasm... I must admit, it's fairly amusing to see you take insult to such an offhand lead-in to enthusiasm for what he's done. I assure you, Glyph, that the only opinion I'm going to be of is that you have a bloated ego if you think you need to "take me down a peg" - save yourself the failed attempts of ruining my esteem.

"Forget these people" wasn't the insult. What, you think I'm gonna get mad that he's telling someone to forget me? Hell no, mate! Glyph's right, I insult more than that all the time. No, no, this isn't about being insulted, because I'm not. I'm just saying it's idiotic to say what he said.

And the sarcasm-is-actually-exaggeration thing: Sometimes, exaggeration doesn't travel well either. Especially in a statement so direct such as that.

...

I leave for a while and an argument breaks out?
AI, thanks for your support, but LvK and Glyph are entitled to their opinions too. I appreciate the three of you giving me suggestions, but I don't think you three need to really argue amongst yourselves.

Color my drawings? I almost never color them, but it might help.

True enough, I'd hate to see a good topic ruined by bickering, especially when I think Smithy's art is great.

Well well well. I questioned your intelligence over earlier postings, and now I'm blown away by art which I could never hope to make myself. Well done. I think the major problem (as a practical issue) is that the darkness seems to obscure stuff, and hides some of the detail you seem to have put into those pictures. I've never played Killer 7 and don't know too much, but for practicality, it'd be nice to be able to see a bit more of their faces.

Don't attack me for my comments; just take them as you would from someone using only their eyes and not art knowledge or Killer 7 knowledge.
