I know this is the comics forum but this place seemed to be the best place to put this. I'm considering writing a Mario fanfic. It chronicalises ( sorry for the crappy spelling)the past lives of Mario and Luigi, their arrival in TMK and their major quest. It is very, very, very loosely based on the first SMB game. In fact it's so loosely based I should say kind of almost inspired by SMB 1. Anyway the problem is I do some things in this fanfic that I fear Mario purists may mob and stone me for. I'm not trying to defile Mario in my fanfic I'm just trying to add a little depth and originality to the same old stale Maerio fanfics I keep oming across. No offense to any authers of the fanfics on this site. I have not even looked at SMBHQ's fanfic library yet. So should I write it or not?

Well, first of all, if you really want to, you shouldn't let everyone else's opinion stop you from writing your fanfic.

Secondly, this would probably be more "in-place" in the SMBHQ Main forum or, for general Fanfic approval, the Fanfic forum (I think we still have that around, right?). If, however, you've just found out about the message boards entirely, and don't even know about those, then I guess this is as good a message board as any, though it should really go in the NC board if it should go anywhere.

So, now that we've got all that settled, I don't think I'd mind that much. Though I don't know if you could call me a "Mario Purist". But anyway, for whatever it's worth, you have my support.

Go for it, dude. I like deviation. I'm doing an action-movie style NC fic.

So, final verdict: Move to SMBHQ forum, fanfic forum, or NC forum?

Thanks. I'll write it now that I know at least 2 people don't mind something a little different. A couple of years back I pitched my fanfic idea to some people at a different website. They asked me what changes I would make, I told them, they stoned me....literaly they started doing this *tosses rock at fogen* until it was an all out biblical death sentance.

Oh, at first I thought you were talking about the good kind of stoned.
