The Legend of Popstar

Well I've had a Kirby comic idea for a few months now so I decided it's time to actually make it. The Legend of Popstar is about Kirby and his friends. Oh yeah it's made in GIMP also.

I know theres a lot of empty space. I'll fix that in later comics.

Thanks. It actually took a long time to make. I needed a title idea and a plot idea. It also took a long time to make it with GIMP.

No, not good. Waaay too much empty space, which confuses me. You know there's too much empty space, but you left it anyway. Huh.

The text also runs into the borders of the speech bubbles. And would it hurt you to center it?

All that rolled up into another cliched intro comic with that ever-popular "What could go wrong?" line.

Needs work.

I said I was going to fix the empty space... I have an idea how to fix it so hopefully it works for next comic.

Okay now I didn't fix the empty space problem. It's tough to do with GIMP and it's hard to explain why it won't work but I will keep trying for future comics. Anyways enjoys.

Here's a radical thought: If you have no idea what you're doing, then don't do it.

Or... If you don't like my comics don't read it?

Edit: I just figured how to fix the space problem. All I had to do was merge the layers in GIMP then copy and paste my comic into MS Paint and fix it there.

Oh hi, my name's Dylan. I'm the mod of this forum, which means I go over every thread posted and am obliged to participate in any way possible to keep activity in the forum up.

As mod of a forum that is mostly user-created material, it is also my duty to critique every work as best I can, whether it's good or bad. My critiques come from years of experience in the given field, which account for my position in this forum.

I read every comic that comes through this forum not because I like them, but because it's part of my job to carefully review everything that's been submitted. I hold them to standards which I see fit for this forum and expect them to be nothing short of what I expect.

I don't ask for much, just for good work to be posted here. I don't expect anyone to post epic masterpieces, but it would be nice to see comics that are actually funnier than Bob & George (That's not asking for much at all.). If you don't want me reading your comics, then feel free to take them elsewhere.

Consider this a warning. You're damn lucky I'm not locking this.

Can we PLEASE have a topic in this forum where the creator of a comic doesn't argue or be bitchy with somebody who is giving them sugestions on how to make the comic better?

Seriously, Irby, he's giving you some tips on how to improve the comic. Take them seriously, follow them, and you won't have this problem. Don't shoot back or anything. Simply listen to him. Trust me, it'll work. Just calm down.

Okay whatever.

I fixed the empty space. I forgot to outline the last two text bubbles. I just realised it after exiting GIMP.

That's because the font is big. I guess I could shrink the font.

So far the story is more random than your other comic.

Is that bad or good? I want random sometimes but also a working plot.

Also, explain things. This story has no connection at all. Did Kibble go on the quest with them? Or, where the hell are Kibble and Dee?
