Spore Reviews on Amazon

Approaching 2000 1 star reviews. We are amused, minus the fact that I bought it before finding out about the DRM nightmare.

Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: Spore

EA said they're fixing it for Red Alert. They're going to give you FIVE whole installs. Stupid as it sounds, the DRM scheme caused me to not buy it. I've become a real huge fan of Steam and Impulse (Stardock), especially dealing with multiple computers.

Suddenly I'm glad that my out of date video card kept me from buying this.

However, it couldn't keep me from renting the DS version which is one of the most boring games I've ever played.

Isn't the DS version just 'cute Flow'?

^Spore Creatures There's a demo here. Just add about every mistake you can make in game design and you'll have a pretty good idea of the full game.

So I guess I had the right idea in buying Galatic Civilizations II instead???

Also, Civilization and Sim City will always be first in my mind. Sim City for growing things, Civilization for destroying them (with cool cultural background).

And Gal Civ for 'create-a-destructive death thing' gameplay.

Of course. I don't do much PC gaming; the fact it has DRM kind of killed the 10% impulse to try it anyway.
