Does anyone know where I can find a download for NetHack, or Rogue?

You know, those old Rogue-Style RPGs.

You mean like those games that help you practice at things like hacking? I had a game like that that was so realistic and so much like hacking into computers. You had to earn money by hacking into business accounts and avoid getting IP logged. You could buy things like password generators and go up to people to get hints such as "Disney changes their password every two weeks" or "Coca Cola always has a password starting with C". A lot of stress in staying concealed but the reward was worth it. So realistic.

Yeah, I'm sad that my laptop doesn't have a numpad so I can't play it anymore. How far were you able to get? I rarely made it much past Dwarftown, so like mid-teens levels.

NetHack 3.4.3: Home Page first result on google.

Nethack is a pretty cool game but its difficultly curve is ****ed.

ADOM... ADOM is like nethack ++++++++. I might be able to stand it if it actually had a significant amount of random areas like god intended rougelikes to be, but as it stands it just seems like its on rails to me.

Angband variants are pretty fun but they all have various annoying probelms (huge empty levels, incredible mindlessness, etc)

Man, it's been so long.... I think I got to about Dwarftown, too. I'm not sure if I got any further than that, though. Never beaten the game.

If you want randomness, go to the infinite dungeon. That's basically a normal Roguelike by itself.

^Are you talking about ADOM? I don't know what genhenom is.

nethack in response to the post directly above mine saying "I got to minetown". And nethack and the majority of rougelikes is plenty random enough for me, its just that since in ADOM the world is always the same I always have to grind through the same stuff to get back where I was, whereas in Nethack or something i at least have diffirent challenges. also ADOM has more spoiler dependence then nethack does, ****ing cat lord

Also I usally go to the infinite dungeon but due to how it increases in difficultly you can't stay there for too long

I usally play dungeon crawl, incursion and various angband variants most of the time so idk

If you have an iPod touch there is an application called Rogue Touch that would probably suit you well.

How do you open it? I've tried to open the Spelunky file, but it won't work. What do I use?

That's a RAR file, an archive like ZIP but with better compression.
Try 7-Zip - it can handle unpacking RAR files.
