Yeah I dunno about this. On the one hand, SWORD AND SHIELD? YES YES YES

On the other hand, the sticky bomb launcher is really your best weapon, it's what makes the demo one of the most dangerous classes on the field. Grenades are too inaccurate to be used all the time. It'll basically make him a completely different class. I'm excited to try it out but I'm not sure it'll really be worth it.

Haven't run into crafting yet but also interesting. Give me something to do with all those useless extra items, I guess that's the point.

the demoman hardly needs an upgrade so letting him fill a second role is a much better way of doing things

I hated soldiers before I had a mandate to kill them with my second favorite class. Now they'll just be punishing me even harder and giving me less time to react? Awful.

(More objectively, it is a good reward for soldiers who can actually aim. I'd make more snarky comments but Valve pretty much has it covered. Also the bugle is cool.)

so either the valve servers are freaking out or they're giving plenty of items out because I was playing on a server that gave me a bunch of items. i now have four camera beards

Valve servers are indeed freaking the **** out. The game is bugged to hell. You might wanna hold off until they put in a major fix (that will also maybe give time for demo/soldier numbers to fall off).

And yeah, the Direct Hit seems fine now that I've seen it in action. ESPECIALLY with the explosion-nullifying Chargin' Targe, which I just love so much. I haven't gotten the sword yet but I see demos running around murdering people with it all the time. I am excited.

^ the patch fixed the actual bugs, but theres still issues with items due to how hard their servers are getting hit. by the end of the free weekend you should be clear to unlock stuff

luckily i got the DH, SR, eyelander and bugle (and the camera beard) in the huge item spam yesterday (smug)

Yeah... they're probably overpowered, though maybe it's because I've been playing normal Demo (-blast damage = dead Demo). I do feel like Eyelander wielders have been tearing it up though. Haven't used the SR but I do like "thinking" and laying traps so I have high hopes. The Direct Hit is a little annoying but there's nothing wrong with it. A fair reward to good soldiers, like it was supposed to be, but not too strong. Love the banner. The Equalizer's kind of annoying but I guess it's fair since beat-up soldiers using it are gonna die soon anyway.

I'm still getting bugs with Medic unlocks, though that might have been from before the update. Family Practice and Blast Assist are both failing to work for me.

anything that requires you to charge head on in order to use it half decently isn't going to cut it once your fighting 3 or more people.

i do think the damage reduction should be reduced though, because some people who are good with the pipe launcher have been doing this tank bull**** with the targe and soldiers, pyros and demos just seem mostly worthless against this, even if its not overpowered its not very fun being almost hard countered

I've found the only Pyro Counter to the sword is to set them on fire, then Axtinguisher them.

It's pretty awkward, though. They need sword fighting mechanics, almost.
