Team Fortress 2 Punishing Idlers, Giving Non-Cheaters Free Hat

Team Fortress 2 Punishing Idlers, Giving Non-Cheaters Free Hat

Quote:
The latest update to Team Fortress 2 didn't update any class, but it did add fashionable headwear. Since then hats have been all the rage, and the random drop system has made finding your ideal hat a bit difficult. Some have resorted to external idling programs, which does not please the folks at Valve at all. In a new blog post, Erik Johnson says that over the next few days all players who used external idling applications will have the items obtained that way erased. That applies to weapons as well, of course, but who cares about those next to such awesome hats?

The purge will only impact about 5% of the TF2 community, known as the "dirty cheaters" segment. The rest of the community will be rewarded with a free hat, just to rub salt in the wounds of those who wake up to find their items suddenly missing.
Oh, the lulz.

Funny. The halo is kind of lame though. I had it on for about 5 minutes before deciding I didn't feel like wearing it. They did say hats in general will be more common, so that's a big plus.

Can't say I've ever played TF before though. So I'm sure that there's something I'm missing...
