Valve Announces New Game: Alien Swarm | Rock, Paper, Shotgun

It's a top-down co-operative class-based shooter, based on an old UT2004 mod.
It also comes with full source code.
Oh, and it's free.

Seems very complex with very high emphasis on battle tactics, from the little I played. You can make turrets and cut through doors. The AI in the training/offline mode is decent, and isn't one of those ones that never shoots until it's too late.

Shotgun = effective.

I'm out of the country and so on a ****ty connection now, but I'll probably give it a shot once I'm back. Looks interesting and I'm always up for some good co-op action.

Seems okay. Requires people you really really trust and quite a bit of patience if you don't entirely trust 'em. I'm not exactly one of those people who likes multiplayer games, even though this is the kind of game I find less sanity-grinding.
